Hey guys,

Finally I have some good news for us in this thread. I just received MR this morning from Vienna ( yes the ever silent Vienna Office) for myself and my wife, so I am very excited but surprised as well. I pray this opens to the door to the rest of us in this thread for everyone to receive something new and progressive as well.

Thanks to everyone here for their cooperation and advises to fellow members and I know its about time the good news comes to each and everyone left in the thread.

Goodluck guys!

Awesome news, a very hearty CONGRATS, Gearman!

Man, you just made my day.
Finally news from FSW stream!!

BC, I hope that you are next. Be ready! :)

Cheers!

Thanks, Yoda. At least there is some movement in the economic class. This gives some hope to the rest of us :)

And on a brighter note - I am sure you all have seen this. This is the true Olympic Spirit, and also so very Canadian (even though he is American, but the Canadian influence clearly shows):

It's physically impossible for Vienna VO to even open FSW 2013 applications this year.

It's a small office with few people dealing with countries where people more or less want to get away from their home countries and go to Canada.

There is no magician who can change this fact.

Spring 2015 is how I see it for us, FSW 2013 applicants.

Than again, I am known as a pessimist, so that might be a problem too.

I, on the other hand - and maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part - expect them to finish ALL of the FSW applications by the end of this year. Not only because next year it's EOI coming, but if you carefully analyse the data in those public excel sheets (from data.gc.ca), you will see that globally CIC should have had around 40-45.000 people waiting for FSW decision at the start of 2014, and this year's quota for FSW is around 47.000 finalized persons. So clearly they would like to clear the whole backlog this year. Now, you could say "ok, but Vienna is slow, so other VOs will do it, but not them", but I think that is not true also. The operational targets for the individual VOs are just finalized now. Usually they publish it in February each year. I am sure that basically all VOs will get exactly or a little more for target than their current backlog in persons. Just because that is how you eliminate backlogs. It happened before, for VOs they wanted to shut down, they got the same quota as their backlog was. So, if Vienna gets the target they need, I think it is not a big deal to actually finalize those apps this year. We are talking about around 200 applications, even if only 2 officers are working on FSW, they have 250 working days. Each application can have 2.5 net days from one of those officers. Not mentioning the preprocessing which was already done by Sydney. That should be enough. But I am sure they will allocate as much workforce as needed, if that is coming from the Ministry.

So all in all, I am optimistic. Even more optimistic for FSW 2013. They promised 1 year, and seemingly they wanna keep it this time. Look at New Delhi or London, their backlog is enormous, and still they started processing FSW 2013, which means they have prioritized them, ahead of older FSW applicants, just to keep deadline. We will see what happens, but my guess is, by the end of March, at least one FSW 2013 applicant will get MR from Vienna.

I've applied as PNP nominee in April 2013, AOR in June. No changes since that time. I hope that 17 months processing time for PNP applicants is close to the reality.

I'll inform this topic once MR received.

Please am new in this forum, I got my PER on 9th November 2013 for FSW'13 (NOC 2263)
I pray Vienna respond in positive way soon...

got the Passport Request. For a Work Visa :) 28 calendar days between the application and PPR.

Congats!!! nicely done!

Yep, Vienna is slightly moving - for temporary visas at least. Wondering if we will become PRs this year...
