give them a call and 1st confirm. Do tell your situation and tell them you have other identification docs available like N.I.C , Driving License.. etc. Hope they will accept.

At first, wait for your medical call. Once you get call confirm this from IOM if it is mandatory to bring Passport photocopy or not.

If IOM say yes just tell them it is submitted to embassy and you don't have its photocopy and provide the alternative solution.

Bend first of all you must understand that you will be required to give your passport number to the operator booking your appointment once you get the medical call In shaa Allah.
secondly there is no problem in taking the NIC with you because they accept it and since you do not have a copy for your passport you can take the courier slip with you TCS or Gerry's or whatever.
IOM people are nice yaaara so do not panic it will just be fine so enjoy and wait for the medical call. hope you get one soon In shaa Allah

People were very kind there. My medical exam was conducted in Karachi, nice staff with positive attitude.

Telling you honestly when I called IOM for the first time I was in office and my passport copy was in home. When they started to take my information they asked for my passport number I said its in home and I don’t have it right now so they replied you can take appointment from us when you have your passport number.

Well see, but this doesn’t conclude it as a mandatory thing because I told them I have it but its in home. In your case you can tell them you don’t have a copy and passport is submitted so they will 100% provide you a solution.

Guys I am like so doomed. I spoke to someone at IOM, they said we need photocopies of your passport. Just CNIC won't work.

Man I am dead. What else can I do? Should I write to the Embassy for returning my passport or sending a copy like when I get the medical call?

The best i think you can do is to let the embassy know. May be they allow and send you back the passport or ask IOM to conduct it without copies (very unlikely).

Until some time back, IOM used to refuse accepting medicals without original passports. This happened with some one i know around Dec 2012. At that time embassy would return passports with medical call, you would use it to get medicals done, and send passports back to embassy again via Fedex / TCS.

If this does happen, please ensure that you have your name, passport number, date of birth, address and contact numbers and File number (if available) on the package to be able to connect it certainly with the rest of the application.

Either way, this is a tough one and is going to delay your process significantly.

Yup I know fkl. When they would email, I would try and seek help.

Fkl I already feel miserable about it all. I would need to defer my admission I guess.

But you know CIC's website says original passport, CNIC or driving license.

Anyways no point no arguing, I have been extremely dumb and stupid to photocopy God knows what not and forgot to get a copy of my passport.

Once you get a medical call, try going IN PERSON to IOM and explain this. Do this before asking the embassy.

May be some one in position to allow this would take pity and help out.

But I guess its a lesson for everyone here to always keep extra copies of everything.

I know no one would be as negligent as me anyways.
