Just out of interest, does anyone have any thoughts on my status, as I'm not too sure if I'm IP1 or IP2?...

Review of eligibility: We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
Review of medical results: You passed the medical exam.
Review of additional documents: We do not need additional documents.
Interview: You do not need an interview.
Biometrics: Completed.
Background check: We are processing your background check.
Final decision: Your application is in progress.

Interestingly my Background Check status has said "we are processing..." since I received AOR.

That's normal and IP1/IP2 don't really mean anything/Uk applications don't really go through that process

Thanks as always; just for my own intrigue, can you elaborate when you say UK apps. don't go through that process?

*Shrug* It says its processing as soon as it hits AOR and nothing really changes except for when your Biometrics clear, then stays that way until your process is done with (the wording changes automatically at the mid-way point but this sadly doesn't reflect any actual progress except time has moved forward)

You've gotten PPR and you're just waiting for you're COPR now, right?

No. I'm still waiting for the approval. Technically speaking UK applicants don't get a "PPR", but if we did I'd still be waiting for it. All that has happened is that my application has been transferred out of CIO Sydney, the first real progress since July 2018.

In forumese, you're in "IP2", but as RayBear says these terms don't really mean anything outside of this forum. I'm in "IP1", as mine (still) says

"Background check: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check."

*Shrug* It says its processing as soon as it hits AOR

As you can see from mine, this isn't always the case. Maybe more recent ones such as yours are coming through like this regularly but previously we have all been subject to the same processes as every other applicant from around the globe. Ultimately the stuff we see in the online account is just placeholder text to give us all something to look at and make us feel like something is happening. It seldom reflects what stage your application is actually at. The only true insight into your case is ordering GCMS notes, but hopefully none of you will have to because your visas will arrive well before time.

This is basically what Inwas getting at. Technically I'm in "ip2". When I called a few months ago, they suggested my criminality was passed but nothing else was started. A later call suggested my security was under way. Latest call says its not. Same status the entire time.

Like I said, basically nothing relevant changes once it says its being processed

You can read about my saga here.
Oh man, i hope your application being transferred to the London Visa Office means good news very soon! I absolutely love the part in your saga about the Hi, my name is xxxx and i am a PR-oholic.... had to laugh at that as the idea of saying this on the forum (only place where anyone can understand the joke really) crossed my mind so many times!
Wish you all the best!

It seems quite a few people keep getting contradictory messages from IRCC when we call them, i remember the story of @OptimisticEric who posted here as well ... 2 months to go till the 6 months deadline and can't wait for the famous "PPR Email". Leaving for Canada in a few weeks anyway to tour the country till then. The adventure is about to start one way or another!

Well, just got an update on my profile that says 'application/profile updated.' Normally an indication of moving into IP2 right, if such a thing exists?...

IP1/IP2 is mostly nonsense in that it provides no clue as to how far along your application is. From what I gather from seniors it used to matter but it’s just become impossible to predict your progress based on the online profile.

From my own experience anyone wanting to know how their profile is doing should order GCMS notes. Online status/CSE/emailing the visa office is a total stab in the dark as the information can be true or false but you have no way of knowing which.

With all that said, if it’s in London that should be good news that a final decision is on its way so I hope you hear good news soon.

That isn’t to say logging on and seeing “application updated” is bad, it means there has been movement of some kind! But if you’re in “IP2” that’s no indication that your final decision is close

I should also mention i got PPR last week, just over 9 months as needed additional documents but would have been about 7 months I think if they hadn’t needed those so be prepared to wait more than 6 months guys!

Thanks for your breakdown, and congratulations on your PPR!

From what i read on the forum it seems when it is your second ghost update you are most likely to receive the PPR email soon, i hope it is the case for you fingers crossed!

Hopefully, but I feel like that might be a bit quick! I’m only just under 50 days in!

Is it a second ghost update? The first one I got an email and nothing appeared to have changed, then a week later, yesterday, I didn’t receive an email but my profile had been updated... so I guess it’s a second one?
