As we know that there is a change in spousal sponsorship application rule since October 25, 2012. Does anybody know if this new rule has made the processing time any faster(or slower!)?

Our application was received on February 8, 2013 and file was forwarded to Singapore on February 21, 2013. And as of today, the online application status is 'application recieved'.
I have submitted my medical too. My visa office is Singapore.

Some of my friend told me that, for Singapore VO, it takes about 8-9 months to show your application 'in process' status in ECAS. And when ECAS shows your application 'in process', they ask for your passport in two weeks. Is this true?

based on various thread on this forum it seems that each CHC office is different, some request the pp at the end, and others request it during the processing and hold on to it. not sure where the Singapore VO falls in this spectrum.
