My ecas status is NDVO-A
Warm Regards,

Hi guys i have a couple of questions, please try to answer.

1. I heard that background checks are done by the visa post processing the application or it will be outsourced to a third party (like TCS etc), and the security check is done by Canadian Intelligence and Security Agencies; is this true?

2. The visa officer who handles the file in NDVO, will it be a Canadian national or Indian working in the Canadian consulate?

(it will be done by a third party cause in case of any dispute arises Thirsd party will be liable not VO and also saves time for Vo to clear backlogs and their day to day works...)

2. The visa officer who handles the file in NDVO, will it be a Canadian national or Indian working in the Canadian consulate?
(no idea)( I think much chances are to be Indian working in the Canadian consulate cause they have more knowledge of documentation and their legitimacy)

Thanks babbu for your quick update on the sheet...
god bless all

Well Done Jaggy...right explanation.

Sikh19, this CAIPS notes is kind of a report on applicants file processing accessible by CIC and available for interpretation of the current status of a file. It is available only in Canada, hence if you need a CAIPS notes then you have to order it through a person/relative living in Canada ($5.00 fee) or you can order it through professional agencies ( approx $ 40.00 fee). Both take atleast upto 30 days of processing time. Also note that this CAIPS notes is kind of a computer report hence a bit difficult to interpret for us. Professional Interpretation by agencies cost extra or best way is to get it interpreted by seniors like Qorax, Kannamen etc.... Kannamen ( based in Canada) as mentioned by Jaggy is doing social service for all forum members and helping us to get it for free..You are more than welcome to approach him to order your CAIPS notes.

But I wish to also inform you that ordering CAIPS notes should be done only if you feel your file has been stuck for while with no updates. If you check the forum members timelines for receiving PER, AOR & MR requests you can compare your timeline as well. For example if you order your Notes when your file has received AOR and its been only couple of months, its unwise to order your notes as it would have nothing in it... Unless a Immigration Officer views or starts processing your file there would be no details added on your file.
Ideal time to order notes is when you have a interview letter/email ( as it explains reason for interview) or after Medicals are submitted ( 3 months post medicals) to know why your file is stuck...

Hope this helps......

you are a star abhijeet
very nice explanation....bless you

My eCAS Status:

Since I got my application number, it was showing the below line

PR Application is received on Nov....

I got my MR mail on Apr 4th

On Apr 24th, following line was added to my eCAS

We started processing your application on Mar 29

To conclude, my status is at B to update in spread sheet we maintain

But it was updated almost a month after i received my medicals :-\
