Yes, you need to carry those funds with you. Even if your dependents arrive later, you have to carry those funds with you. Otherwise, you may be in a very odd situation. There is possibility that you may not be asked to show, but what if they require it. So to avoid any ambarasment arrange those funds and carry with you.

You should carry the required POF as that is the only reason a VO can detain you & send you back; so dont take any risk at this moment...

ur query is already answered......do not take it lightly or even take a chance of not carrying the reqd POF.....you could be denied entry into Canada for this reason......do as members suggested

depends on case to case......can even take upto 3-5 months to finalize
