It will be really nice, if it is confirmed. I guess a short visit or a phone call to the border section at the airport will answer this question.hamed_hamed_hamed said:I have a question about landing.
Is it possible to land in an airport rather going to a border? I mean for us who live in Canada, may we just go to an international airport in our city and land there?

CBSA officers who are responsible for this sort of things are only in the secondary inspection area where incoming international flights' passengers are checked-in. I'd imagine you can't access that area. So if you're not planning to leave Canada, either flag-pole at a land border or call CIC to arrange for an appointment at a local office (I've heard they're slow).hamed_hamed_hamed said:I have a question about landing.

Yes, this is the standard CIC 'jargon'.climate_modeller said:My eCas status has been changed to 'Decision Made" today the 5th of July 2014, ... waiting to hear what they say.
Is this standard language?
Does anyone have experience reentering Canada after the decision has been made, but without the CoPR? Is the current study permit (expires 3 Sep 2017) still valid or is it automatically revoked upon the issuance of the CoPR?
Thank you. That clears it right up,S_Govind said:Yes, this is the standard CIC 'jargon'.
Until you officially land at a border post, your status in Canada is still that of a student and hence you could re-enter on the strength of your valid study permit alone.
Once your permanent resident status is determined at the border post and you sign the COPR, you are officially a PR and no longer a resident alien. The study permit is automatically cancelled at this point
What is this CoPR? Why not Passport Request? And why is it sent to home address instead of email? Curious.climate_modeller said:My eCas status has been changed to 'Decision Made" today the 5th of July 2014, ... waiting to hear what they say.
Specifically they say: "A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision." Is this standard language?
I am currently out of Canada for two weeks at an academic conference. The CoPR will be sent (hopefully) to my home in Canada; most likely before I return to Canada. Does anyone have experience reentering Canada after the decision has been made, but without the CoPR? My partner is currently at home in Canada. I am thinking of asking her to bring the docs to the US just before my scheduled return to Canada, and then we can land together from there at that time (reentry will be a ferry ride.).
Any thoughts? Thanks
COPR stands for "Confirmation Of Permanent Residence". You need this document while you do the landing. You receive COPR from CIC when they request you for passport (After medicals). Climate_modeller does not get a passport request cause he does not need a visa to enter Canada. He holds a French passport. Hence he receives COPR by mail.Jubayer said:What is this CoPR?
