Dang, I hope I was wrong then. Let's see it on CAIPS. You'll get them in 3 weeks. Let's hope for the best. And your eCas won't change after document request. Just because you have passed selection factor, it doesn't mean you have passed eligibility. To pass eligibility, you need to pass BOTH selection factor and proof of settlement funds (and maybe RCMP screening). After eligibility is cleared, admissibilities are initiated, and this includes medical (and PCC).

As I mentioned before when Ottawa office requested my POF and PCC on january i have sent them (RK6165) before the due date but on March again they asked me for those documents this time from FA01772 department. When I provided them the evidence that i have already sent those document then FA01772 department sent me this reply.......

Dear xxxxx: We have received the documentation that you sent us, and it has now been attached to your application. No further documentation is required from you at this time..

Could you suggest any opinion at this point. Although I have requested for the CAIPS note two weeks ago. I really appreciate your help.

That's true. However, it still says "previous study" so they may still not credit the first 2 years of PhD as it is "current study." That could help applicants who studied for 2 years but not towards a degree and then stopped. I am not sure it means they will list the first 2 years of PhD as "previously completed 2 years of study" towards a current degree. If you ask me, those 2 years should count regardless if it's for a previous program or a current program as a differentiation between them serves NO purpose. Two years towards PhD are definitely more important than 2 years at a community college in the past when it comes to CIC's criterion of "ability to become economically established" in Canada. But this is not the only example where CIC application of rules contradicts their stated goals.

Going by the "Spirit of the Law" everyone here should be accepted. Unfortunately, "Interpretation of the Law" proved detrimental to many of us.

Thanks guys for your comments! The sad part is the one year that you are in waitlist and you are pretty much sure you would be fine since you got PER! I applied based on my lawyer's interpretation of the law that two years of PhD would make you eligible for those 5 points. I called CIC recently after the rejection and talked to a representative and surprisingly she said she would agree that being enrolled in PhD for two years would make you eligible! However, CIC VOs have been extremely picky! The main fact here is that there should be a positive feedback that reflects the applicant's adaptability who are applying from within Canada.

The new selection factor still has the term "previous study" which I believe will cause the same issue. I argued this with the officer that refused my application and he/she said that I have completed "two years" and not "the entire program". I can not find the"entire" term in any of their regulations. Just another excuse to reject the applicants without leaving room for appeal!

Application Received: April 24, 2013
PER issued: May 6, 2013

The one you posted was when applicants would only submit applications to Sydney, then documents to the appropriate visa offices. "In process" now consists of three parts:
1. Application Received
2. Application Processed
3. Medical Results Have Been Received

Based on my GCMS notes, and also based on what I've read from other forum members, within the context of FSW (MI-3 and later), the date indicated by the second line is the date you pass eligibility (though it could also mean the day applications get rejected), and that admissibility checks are now initiated.

The third line indicates that medical has been passed. Your application is 'in process' up to the third line.

'Decision Made' however, can still mean that an interview is still required, though I hardly see anybody on this forum that got interviewed after decision made.

I think asbereth is right regarding RK and FA thing as if we look at the tracker, there has been no activity for many applicants for close to 3 months in some cases. I think they changed the modus oprendi and they complete the file with documents or screen and reject on basis of funds and then forward it to the visa officer. Well also I think if it was the step before MR, May 2012 onwards applicants say August and September 2012 will have the visa within 1 year of application, and that seems unlikely.

Really whats happening to April 2012 buddies???

Ace_2012, aidina, congratulations !!! If you guys live in Ontario, and have your international fee already waived from last year, did you guys need to do anything special this time? Did you notify that your PR was rejected, and now approved in principle once again?

Ya. That's what I thought initially. One of my friends applied on August last year, and he got document request (CV, list of publications, etc) about a month ago (from RK6165). Immediately he applied for CAIPS, and on CAIPS, it was only mentioned that they requested his PhD info, but nowhere it was mentioned that assessment against selection factor has been done.

April 2012 should the next in line to be assessed (not just requested for documents, but assessed against selection factor). I really hope we'll hear something soon about the rest of 2012 applications, and no more rejections, please...

It's been more than one month since we've done medical exam. Checked with the doctor, the receptionist informed me that medical results should be fine otherwise we would be contacted. However, there is still no third line added...Wondering that maybe Ottawa guys are on early summer vacation?

I'm not sure. There could be a possibility that FA01772 might have finally gotten into your file. When did you hear the request from FA01772? Was it within one week of your request for GCMS notes? GCMS notes are usually current up to a week after request (so up to a week ago), so hopefully FA01772's follow-up request would imply that your file has positively been assessed against the selection factor. Or it could be that I was completely wrong... Let's just wait until we hear back, or got your CAIPS (I know, waiting is tough, but what can we do )

GCMS notes are usually current up to a week after request (so up to a week ago), so hopefully FA01772's follow-up request would imply that your file has positively been assessed against the selection factor. Or it could be that I was completely wrong... Let's just wait until we hear back, or got your CAIPS (I know, waiting is tough, but what can we do )

FA01772 requested on 20th of March,2013 which is 3 days after the due date (17th of March) of my first document request. I submitted the GCMS request on 18th April,2013.
