As I from India, I had the option to select Buffalo or New Delhi, but I never expect that the processing is this much fast at ND. I have an application at NDVO from 2005, but it is still in process :(.
Hi AST, I was mostly talking about the other thread about those who got PER after February:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/applicant-received-per-in-febmarchlets-connect-here-t99199.0.html

Most people that applied to NDVO (mostly FSW1 though, not the PhD stream) have already gotten their AOR, even those who applied as late as February  I think two or three members that applied back in December or January (again, FSW1, not PhD stream) have done medicals! Crazy efficient these officers are :)

If you follow their timelines, you'll notice that they roughly received PER around the same time as we did, but the VO part was going much much faster. It seems to only be true for NDVO though. Other visa offices (at least based on those who posted in that thread) are not nearly as fast, though they are still faster than Buffalo :(

Anyway, if you don't mind me asking, what applications you still had pending since 05? Another FSW one?

I got my hands in the Mi-3 spreadsheet and made a filter for buffalo applicants.
Some people that applied in September got their AOR in about 30 days. A guy that applied in February, got
it in 5! But then, a single guy got in 107 days and a few didn't even got anything after many more months.

Yes, it is under FSW1. But as the application date is 2005, probably, wih the new suggestions, CIC will cancel that (CIC is planning to close all applications before Nov 2008 to avoid backlog, hopefully, they will refund the fees!).

I guess, CIC is giving more priority for those who are from the trades like welder, fitter, electrician, plumber etc :(

So, those who are from these trades may get PR in less than 10 months or so.

Caps of 10.000 has been reach.
Phd Stream is up to 657. I think this will not increase much further until September, when the new academic year
starts and people from 2010 become eligible.

TyrusX, I feel the same too - that the rate of applicants for this stream is going to decrease somewhat, especially since winter semester is over and summer is just round the corner. And as you said it might pick up steam in fall.

Guys, I just got the package returned by CIO. I decide to send it again since they mis-assessed my education background. (I am a phd student, but they said I only got a bachelor degree! Ridiculous!)

After I got rejected, I sent an email about their mistake to CIO-Sydney-Search-Enquiry@cic.gc.ca. 14 days later, I got a reply as follows:

Good Afternoon:

Please be advised that this email has been forwarded to the decision maker for review.

Thank you,

But they don't change the decision, and I was still charged 550 CAD for their fault. Can I do anything do ask my payment back? Can I apply again recently?

Did you provide proof that you completed a masters degree?

Hi beh467, I was in a similar situation. I made a mistake in the background declaration form as well where I did not write down my siblings' names. I contacted the CIO a while ago (before getting the PER), and they told me that I should just send the corrected forms with a cover letter to Buffalo directly after getting my PER. I did this already, but I think I should probably send a case inquiry to Buffalo as well. Let us know how they will reply to your inquiry :)
How long did it take that CIO reply your email?
I have sent them an email a week ago but there I have not received any response yet.

The CIO usually takes forever to reply to emails. What I did was I called the call center using this number: +1(888)242‑2100, and after waiting for roughly half an hour (not exaggerating), they finally answered. Let me know how it goes :)

Hi sam001, as I mentioned, the CIO would take forever to reply through email, so it's best that you try to contact them by some other means.

Of coz. Official documents from my university. I also got my bachelor degree from the same university.
To respond to an NER that is possibly due to their mistakes, I believe several members here have followed the following:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/how-to-deal-with-an-unfair-ner-a-negative-eligibility-review-t67741.0.html

If you got your NER overturned to PER, can you share your appeal wording with us? I think it would be helpful to a lot of people facing similar circumstances :)

jackson2209, I think you and anjuku had a conversation several weeks ago. Were you able to get credential report for your Master's degree? Obviously if you asked them to reconsider their NER, they would not overturn it (since you cannot submit new information), but if you reapply (along with credential report for your Master's degree), then it should be okay. Let us know, and hopefully things go well for you.

Hi asbereth
Did you contact CIC call center regarding the mistake that you had in background form?
Because in the previous post you told me that you contacted CIO regarding this issue.
Thanks

Hello everyone

I have a few question about my case, I did my undergraduate in my home country and came to Canada to do my M.Sc in Biology on Sept 2010. Recently, I transferred to PhD program in my university and all my study within M.Sc counts towards my PhD. I spoke to our department and they told me that they would state in my registration letter for CIC that I am currently a PhD student and I started my graduate study toward completion of my PhD from Sept 2010. However, before transferring to PhD, I applied online to extend my study permit when I was officially a M.Sc student and they have my application as a M.Sc student several months ago.
Here are my questions
1) Would I be eligible to apply under PhD stream as I transferred from M.Sc and they have my application to renew my study permit for M.Sc several months ago ?
2) Can I apply use my GRA as work experience for apply under FSW2 as a biologist (NOC 2121) as all my duties in the lab is similar to responsibilities description for this code?

I should tell that I have a one year work experience as a English instructor in my home country. I was wondering if I can use this experience for any of these categories?

Thanks a lot everyone
