Sorry to hear this. Would you mind sharing your timeline with the rest of us?. As Beh said you need to explicitly have the word 'assist' as a part of your duty description as well as opening statement of your letter. In case you did update your letter and had these words, you can send an email to ottawa with evidence of confirmation of receipt of your updated letter. As long as it reached them before the date of final assessment you should be OK. The other way is approach your MP and request the assistant to conact Ottawa directly...af82 said:I got rejected for the second time. I submitted my second application application on august 2012. First time I was rejected for reference letter problems (I only have TA/RA experience). However this I asked the department to include the all bullet points of NOC 4012 in my ref letter. Here is what I got today:
They check for completeness of your application and then cash your cheque or MD. After this , there is a preliminary assessment and in case you pass, you are informed so by an email from CIO Sydney. This is what people call the 'PER email'.pfau said:(How do you all know that your application was received? Only from a postal or courier signature, I guessing? The CC or MD cashing is the first definitive sign from the CIC, right?)

This can be a good news for Iranian applicants. I think Samira and Mehroonir are the next Iranian applicants that will get their passport request.
We also don't have any 'decision made' 8 months after sending the medicals. Nevertheless, your news was encouraging beh467 ;-) Thanks!samira sokn said:Let's see. Mine is over 8 months now.
Thanks. It seems that I have to reapply . First, here is my time line:S_Govind said:Sorry to hear this. Would you mind sharing your timeline with the rest of us?. Send your letter to the following well known email address:dapin84 said:Hi everyone,
If I want to send an update letter fixing the lead statement, where should I send it? If it is by e-mail, does my supervisor have to send it from his e-mail?
I doubt if it is the only way to send transcripts to them. Don't they accept originals?af82 said:Thanks. It seems that I have to reapply . First, here is my time line:
Reached CIO: 8 Aug 2012, CC: 21 Oct. 2013 PER: 22 Oct 2012 Reject: Nov. 18 2013
No of applicants: 2 Work experience: TA/RA only (3+ year) Nationality: Iran
Second, seems I have a new challenge. Now, I need to have my B.Sc and M.Sc assessed. I would like to ask Iranian friends who applied after May 2013 to share their experience about this. The hardest part for us seems to be convincing our university to send the official transcript directly to the assessment agency.

I knew mine was received when I got the email with the UCI number.
All the best to you!
Don't worry about the assessment. It is not as hard as it seems.af82 said:Thanks. It seems that I have to reapply . First, here is my time line:

Sorry for your rejection for the second time, for the same reason!af82 said:Thanks. It seems that I have to reapply . First, here is my time line:

Hello Pfau,pfau said:Hi All,
I've been a long-time lurker on the forum here and got a lot of helpful answers to my questions that way; so thanks to everyone who's contributed!
I thought I'd add my two cents by informing that my application was received (as best as I can tell) on November 5, 2013 and you can add this to the spreadsheet if you'd like. (How do you all know that your application was received? Only from a postal or courier signature, I guessing? The CC or MD cashing is the first definitive sign from the CIC, right?)
In any case, I'll update as things move along.
P.S. I'm from the U.S.; there are four of us (wife and two kiddos) in the application; and I included TA/RA work experience (for the one year full time equivalent requirement) and the two courses for which I was the sole instructor.
