Hi pass2012,
I applied using only RA and TA experience but got rejected.
CIC mentioned they are not satisfied with the job description.
Could you give me some suggestions on that?

Thanks very much.
can you tell us about ur timeline, and the wording of the job descriptions in your employment letters?

The CIC website (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-instructions.asp) says:

- We will accept 5,000 applications in total from May 4, 2013 to April 30, 2014, in the eligible occupations stream.
- Within the 5,000 applications, we will only accept 300 in each priority occupation.
- In the PhD stream, we will accept 1,000 applications from May 4, 2013 to April 30, 2014.

This means, on 4th May, the PhD stream counter will be reset to 0 and will accept a maximum of 1000 applications till 30 April 2014.

Specific eligibility criteria for international students–Skilled workers and professionals

Note: As of May 4, 2013, CIC is re-opening the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) to 24 eligible occupations, in addition to applicants with a qualifying job offer or those applying under the PhD stream. As of this same date, all applications are subject to the new FSWP selection criteria.

Important:

We will accept 5,000 applications in total from May 4, 2013 to April 30, 2014, in the eligible occupations stream.
Within the 5,000 applications, we will only accept 300 in each priority occupation.
In the PhD stream, we will accept 1,000 applications from May 4, 2013 to April 30, 2014.
There is no cap on applications with a qualifying job offer.
As of May 4, applicants must use the new application kit and meet the new requirements in order to apply.
Applications received by CIC on or after May 4 that do NOT include the necessary Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) or do not meet the minimum language threshold requirements will be returned as incomplete.

There will be a new 1000-cap from May 4?

Hi Guys,

I would like to know your opinion about providing a letter from my parents for fund support. I had a large deposit into my account 1 month before sending my application and if they ask for 6 month bank history, it would surely appear there. I got this money from my parents while I traveled to my home country. Now they have provided me a letter saying that the money is a gift and there is no need to return it. I am wondering if:

- I should get this letter to be notarized?
- Do you think they need to also provide a bank statement of their account to show that they are financially well-established.

I would be pleased to have your opinions and suggestions.

Thanks

If I were you, I wouldn't do that after I sent the application, this makes them more suspicious. Maybe they'll ask for it in July, then this large deposit won't appear in you 6 months bank statement. But if they ask before that, then provide them with the letter you have or an affidavit, I'd prefer the second one.

It has been 34 days since I sent CPP-Ottawa the inquiry email regarding my rejection. Still no words from them.
I did get their auto-response about receiving my email.
So...should I contact them again?

It's probably not a bad idea to fire them another email (or fax this time). aidina has heard something back about his rejection, and his rejection came after yours. This may be a good sign? Just curious, does your eCase still say Decision Made? And how about your CAIPS? Did it say something about them receiving the email? Order another CAIPS as soon as possible too to see if there has been a movement.

Thanks for your suggestion. I will wait to hear from them hopefully after 6 months but will have this letter ready. So I guess it would be better if I notarize it. Any idea if my parents should provide their bank history as well?

Thanks again

I don't think your parents bank history would make any difference with CIC guys!
