Don't worry it just the criminality check which is a routine work for all the applicants. Remember each and every application go through these three steps........Eligibility, Criminality and Admissibility .............Once all the gets clear then they ask for Passport.
Good Luck.

1. Actually there are medical exam requirements for study permit applicants who are from or have lived in certain countries (e.g. South Korea, Greenland, Hong Kong, etc.) for a duration of 6 months or more.
2. In most provinces, certain groups of temporary residents can't access public health services.
3. Medical admissibility for an immigrant visa is stricter than for other types of visa simply because the applicant is proposing to "permanently" reside in the country and if there are health issues, they may become a financial burden for Canadian tax-payers.
Thats so true +1. More importantly the provincial health service also a conditional service which strictly depend on ur valid status in Canada. Since Study/work/visitor are temporary status thus u will get those provincial service (if exist in ur province) only if u have a valid status and u have to renew every time whenever u renew ur permit. But like a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident need to renew only after every 5 yrs.

I have received my 3rd and final GCMS notes after landing. It is a massive 63 pages report which also includes my spouse information. It may be useful for other category to know that having Type-2 Diabetic condition is not a matter to be worried. I have type-2 diabetic and it was mentioned in the medical section that "PA has condition for which the potential demand and health or social services is not sufficient to exclude admission under section 38 (1)". To whom who doesn't understand it clearly, note that medical is a part of admissibility and you have to pass it. If you have a disease or physical condition which may cause an excessive medical cost while u r living in Canada will prohibit you to become a PR. This is also applicable to any of ur family members who r accompanying with you. Moreover, if any of the accompanying member is inadmissible to Canada for other application (e.g., visitor, study or work permit), this will also fail you on Admissibility and eventually will refuse your application.
Good Luck my dear friends. I wish you all the very best in ur study and rest of ur PR journey.
Thank you for the useful info and +1 for you.

Hi folks,

Is it allowed to send an express pre-paid envelope with the PR card application for the card return mail?
And can we send the PR card application itself using express post Canada envelope?

Thanks

Yes, you can submit them by email to general cpc Ottawa email but do not forget to put the "attention to" in the first part of your email.

RPRF can also be sent to cost recovery email for faster processing.

What do u mean by PR card application? u don't need any application for PR card when u r landing. CBSA will send ur CoPR (the one with the attached photograph) to CIO to process ur PR card. I never heard anyone can give a express post envelope to CBSA during their landing. U can bring one with you perhaps ur Immigration officer during landing will accept urs but there is no guarantee and I have never heard anyone did that before. Usually it takes around a month, although they said 42 days. Please note that once u receive ur CoPR do not do anything on that paper, no signature nothing without presence of an officer. This paper will need until ur Citizenship so be very careful.

Dear Friends,

I received a request for proof of settlement funds a couple of hours ago. We are literally stressed this Friday afternoon because of this. I am thankful to senior members (Adamant, PEPE, Cantaloupe, VIVA, Derp, PhD1234, pg123 and many more) who have helped in the past and hopefully receive some intellectual advise from you. I have pasted the information below that i received from CIC-Ottawa

This is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada. In order for us to continue the processing of your application, we require the following documents (I already received PER and not MR yet):

Updated evidence of settlement funds (showing 6 months deposits/ withdrawals history) for yourself/ your spouse showing a total/combined minimum balance of $18,097 (for a family of 3) in unencumbered, transferable and available funds.

Now i gone through most of past replies in this forum, and i understand that most of you have sent an updated evidence of proof of funds preferably bank statements.

When i was submitting my application, i have showed sufficient balance of $15500 for me and my wife. I did not know that they will ask me for my son too who is a canadian citizen by birth. Now that since six months there has been a lot of fluctuations in the balance, however, i do have $15000 as a balance now before getting this email.

My Question is: IS it OK to deposit another $3000-$5000 in my wife's or my account would suffice or would instead create a problem resulting in refusal of my application. However, the email says updated evidence of settlement funds for 6 months but does not says evidence of how did i acquire that money.

Do i expect another request that how did i acquire that money in my account in near future? Getting money from our parents back home in the form of gift (around 5000-6000 CAD) is not a problem now but would that affect our application?

Kindly help us to figure out solutions and any advise from you all is greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

I believe u are given one/two months to show the amount. So instead of depositing 3/4 k suddenly in ur account u better to wait until ur funds from school (assuming ur RA/TA money) or from other source deposits in ur account. In that way u will not be questioned where this money came from which meant much safer. Yes it doen'st matter whether ur kid is Canadian citizen or not .........u have to show the funds according to the number of family members.
