Hi

One of the requested documents from people applying from lebanon is a civil status document.

Quoting the exact words from the application:

"Civil Status Certificates for principal applicant, spouse or common-law partner and all dependents. Lebanese civil status documents must be certified by the chief of the civil status section of the relevant Mohafazat."

So please for those who have applied and know what this is, is it "ekhraj kayd farde"? if not what is it and where should I get it from?

Note: I got married in the US and then registered my marriage in Lebanon if that has anything to do with this...

Thank you all in advance...

It's the Ekhraj Kayd Ifrady. Perhaps you can ask rorita or boujasim as they have already applied. :)

You are right hal23 as well Boncuk..:)
It is the "ekhraj kayd farde" witch you should get it from the mouhafazat, I mean from "dairat al Noufousse" from where you are originally or where you elect.
I guess that you have to provide them as well with "ekhraj kayd 3aily" family civil status for you and your wife, and not the one you and your mom and dad, and remember everything has to be translated and has to be stamped in " Al Adlia" and "Al Kharijiat"
By the way, you are Lebanese , right, if not, tell me , so I will translate for you in English where you have to stamp your civil status.
Welcome , one more going thru Damscus...

Boncuk...don't let me start talking about the places where we do the civil status and that stuff....can you belive that they keep the record in big box, 80% of the office don't even have a computer, so when I went to register my marriage, the officer bring a biiiig file, clean the dust from it, and start searching for my name, can you believe that on the marriage certificate, the same person write my mom name for 2 time in wrong way, it took us about 3 week to register the marriage, 1 day for civil status document, 3 week for the passport, ...it was a very horrible experience, and we put lot of money...

Yeah we had some crap here too.. Birthdates wrong.. my husbands mothers name was wrong all sorts of stuff.. no reliable services here.. just who you can pay thats all..
It sucks we are all depressed.. you know even if I am with my husband for me its depressing because I haven't seen my family in sooooooooooo long and miss my home etc. My mom needs me back home and we are so ready to just go! This has been 5 1/2 years in the making and when we are at the final stage and we want it to go smoothly all we are getting is no information.. Rasha and I haven't received AOR's we dont even know if our apps really made it to Egypt! We all have our stories don't we.. I guess we have to keep being grateful for what we have but it's hard sometimes when all you want to see is progress!

I understand your feeling , you and Rasha, not having a AOR, not knowing where is your application.
we passed in the same, from October 2008 till January 2009 , we kept mailing Damascus without any response, witch later on we understand, they didn't had my application in order to answer on our questions.
But when Damascus got our application in January 26, we received the AOR in February 26 , saying that they have started working on my application in feb 12-2009.
Sometime, I understand their point of view in delaying info or something like that. The other day, the Canadian immigration Minster (sorry don't know the right word for him) was in Lebanon and said that each year , 2000 people immigrate to Canada and about 8000 visit Canada from Lebanon, witch count 3.5 million person...so I guess they need time, I don't know. What make it frustrating more is that we don't control it, even it is our life, but other people are looking close to it, asking lot of question and making decision about our own life.

My husband still didn't receive his AOR, would that matter even if they provided with his file# when I email them.
As long a letter of AOR not received, does it mean that the file is still in the queue or what?????

Marlena, I see the answer on my question here...
in some other post over this forum, people said that not allways they get AOR from Damscus...don't know why..maybe they are sending the AOR by regular mail in Lebanon...that would be a nice joke..:)

Rorita my dream came true. I'm not sure if it's good or bad but thhey had inform me today by email about the following:

Please be informed that Damascus office is responsible for the processing of all Lebanese applications. Consequently, the file will be processed in Damascus by Canadian officers. However, Lebanese applicants have the right to choose Beirut as a point of contact, place of interview, if required, and original passports may be submitted in Beirut and visas picked up in Beirut folowing issuance.

As you were informed earlier, your spouse's application is in the queue for assessment. When a decision is made or if we require any additional information or documents, you will be contacted.

I'm not sure because of the announcement they want to inform me with the changes.

I am sure it will a long time before we hear something.

Marlena, this email contain lots of good news.
First , to be selfish and start by myself: If ya rab I am approved, I can take the passport to Beirut embassy and later on pick it up..yes...yes...cause I was worried how to go to Damscus alone.
Second: you know where your application is and that it is in a queue, witch is good.
Did they write down your husband B number on this email I mean is it the AOR letter?
