Please explain where the counter foil was sent to . I got an email that my decision envelop was ready at Accra OC DEM . Please what does that mean? I submitted three weeks ago. Does it mean that when it gets to Lagos, I ll be contacted ?

You will be contacted once it gets to VFS Lagos.
In my CIC account my status changed to approved and Counterfoil showing for all dependant and I, however, I got aail saying my status changed...
 
Hello, my passport has been at AVO for stamping since Oct27th 2020 (2 months now). After reaching out to them, they sent the below;


We acknowledge receipt of your passport and are pleased to advise that your application for permanent residence has been approved. However, in light of current IRCC guidelines, permanent resident visas (PRV) and Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CoPR) cannot be issued for economic applicants with medical results valid for less than a specific period, currently set at six months.

We will hold your passport until we are able to issue it, either because our restrictions change or we receive authorization to request additional information that allows us to issue the PRV and COPR (e.g. a new medical exam). If a new medical exam is required, IRCC can send you a stamped scan of your passport bio pages to help facilitate the process.

My medicals expire 23/03/21. Now I am stuck in some form of limbo as they won’t stamp my passport or tell me to go renew my medicals. Does anyone have any advice on this situation

You will have to wait for either their instruction (if new medical is required) or approval on the GCKey Account. I believe they have contacted the Regional Medical Office (RMO) for medical extension request. So, they are waiting for their response. RMO will either extend the medical or ask for a new one.

You received very good and detailed response and, in fact, helps me. My medical is expiring end of January and was contemplating to wait or go for remedical. I don't know if mine were extended that's why I ordered GCMS.

Did you receive any counterfoil update on your CIC account ??

Wow this is shocking. did you contact AVO via email and got this response because I am wondering if this my fate as medical expires in March as well .

I was basically 4 days short of being within 6 months of the medical validity timeline. Do you have any ideas how long it takes RMO to respond to AVO?

From what I have seen on GCMS and posts here, RMO usually responds within a week of the request.

I am just speculating on VO contacting RMO. In anyway, they are waiting further information as they mentioned but from whom they haven't mentioned.
 
@maxo700 anyways, it somewhat good news for you because otherwise you would end up with expired PRV and COPR as Canada is very much likely to extend travel restrictions again.
