Applicant at Buffalo Office and whose files have moved to Ottawa

Hi Folks,

Just wanted to start a thread, to get all the Buffalo office applicants and whose files have been moved to Ottawa.

Please reply to this thread, if there has been any movement with your application.

This will give us an idea of how much time and how many files are being processed by the CPP.

And also it will give relief and hope to applicants who are eagerly waiting for some action on their files.

My application was sent to Ottawa Aug 8 2012, Sponsorship approval. Haven't heard anything since the transfer.

Our file was originally slated for LA (since the Buffalo office closed) but then we received a letter on the 21st of August from the Ottawa office asking us to send in our FBI clearance and pay the RPRF fee. Sponsorship approved on May 30th, and file finally started processing on the 21st of August. No updates since then.

Ours was transferred in early August as well...not a peep since.

my application was sent to Ottawa in July.
I have heard they have started with the applications. (they asked for fbi report from someone) this stated they atleast started having a look at applications. hopefully they will finish with marchers soon

hi i am wondering if anybody knows how long it will take for applications moved to Ottawa from buffalo .
next week my medical is going to expire and haven't heard anything...

All of our files are in Ottawa at the moment, then they will be transferred to either LA, Detroit, New York, Seattle for issuing of the visas.

Most of us got our sponsorship approval from Ottawa and some of us are already in process with our files already transferred to the respective visa offices for final review. We as well have been in process since August 21 with our file being in LA pending final review. Hopefully by the end of the month, we'll have PPR. They've never requested any documents from us thus far and medicals have been received.

I had sent an email to the CPc Ottawa and I got the reply saying that the processing of the files happen in ottawa and the file is then transferred to LA for visa issue. I asked her for a timeline for which she replied that they cannot say anything at this time due to the volume of files piled up from the buffalo office.

My wife emailed our local MP here in Canada to find out about the status of our application and they recieved a reply from Ottawa stating the following; due to applications being transferred from Buffalo to Ottawa, we cannot conclude when your husband's application was received in Ottawa. Normally, it would be approximately 12 months after being received.

So we are now a little confused....is that timeline of 12months from when we filed? or is it now 12months from when they transfered my application (step 2) ??? I hope its not the latter !!!

Guess even with the MP is not producing anything now.
They closed it because of the budget cut, to save money. They have definitely reduced staff through the process. Just the way the handle the whole transfer is so messy and disorganized!
Did your file arrive in Buffalo before its closure? How did you know it got transferred on 07/06/2012?

that is way too long time. why do only american applicants have to suffer.?
to save money why are they making us suffer ?
oh please god. give cic some strength so that they can finish with their work load fast

Well we recieved a letter addressed to my wife stating that she had met the requirements as a sponsor, and the application for PR for your relative (me) has been forwarded to a visa office abroad for further processing.
This letter was dated June 7th 2012 so we are going from that date.......although it may not be 100% it is the only correspondence we have recieved to date
