Havent found anyone in my specific position on the appeal thread.
I did a notice of appeal at the end of Nov. A week later i recieved a letter from an early resolution officer, stating they were dismissing the non genuine issue and only focusing on the missing death certificate for my previous spouse. I was requested to get some evidence in, which i did (not the death certificate).
I found out that my file was efiled to Ottawa for a panel member/judge to make a decision on Jan 13th. We didnt need a hearing, no phone calls or additional letters. I only found this out by calling. They apparently have 30 days to make a judgement.
I cannot find anyone else that this has happened to. Has anyone had this experience? Please share your experience!

I do not have experience with this. But I read something recently (which I cannot find now of course) stating that they are required to consider new substantive evidence. If they are not calling for hearing or alt dispute resolution, this MAY indicate that the evidence you sent is signficant enough for them to realise they had to re-consider. But keep in mind, I have no info on the details of your case save the above, so may be completely off.

Sorry I don't have more info. I would caution that if you wish to use legal counsel, I would NOT rely on just this info, you and your counsel may still need to prepare for further steps in the appeal process.

Good luck.
