I am landing in Toronto on 27th April & would like to connect with people who are also landing in April/May 2018 and are looking for room mates to share a 2/3/4 BHK near downtown Toronto area.

I am 31, Single, Indian & an Engineer. I am in the process of scouting places online and also with some real estate agents.

I would also be interested in an economical short term rental option for the first few days, if someone has it.

What is close and in decent areas is not cheap.
What is cheap is not close
What is on monthly bases is more expensive (mostly Airbnb).

Most standard is a yearly contract that can after that year turn to a monthly based agreement.

Hi dear. I wish I could help you but our apartment is only one bedroom. We are staying in Scarborough. Fortunately, there is a vacancy in my friend’s building so she helped us secure the place.

Hey @iamxty ! Did you guys already land? How are you finding Scarborough? I have seen some vacancies there but am concerned about the commute to downtown Toronto. I would like to keep the commute under an hour and need to be near transportation.

I am hoping to land around May 15, a little sooner would be better, but I have been really busy taking care of things here which keep changing! I am now planning to sell all of my real estate here and might delay my landing if buyers need a little more time to close. But I almost definitely would like to move by the end of May.

Well, we just searched and looked through Google about Scarborough. My friend said travel time to downtown Toronto is about 20-30 mins by public transpo. The neighbourhood is quite good, near bus stops and Kennedy station, supermarket, school, parks, and of course, Tim Hortons!

We also tried looking around Toronto downtown but the prices are really steep (a jobless couple can’t afford it yet). I have talked (over the phone) to few realtors and homeowners too and they prefer someone who is already there.

Seems like we're neighbours- I stay 2 mins away from the McCowan subway station (on the Scarborough Subway Line 3). It takes me 45 minutes to reach Downtown to my office, which is close to Eaton Centre.

The place is filled with Sri Lankan Tamils, and you can get by speaking Tamil should you know

Ask me anything about Scarborough- I know the place inside out now having stayed here for a month now.
