Do someone has any suggestions of real estate agencies in Halifax, NS?

If looking for rentals most are not done through real estate companies. Either listings are posted on websites like Craigslist or Kijiji or large rental property companies have their own applications systems. Beware of scams and in general you should expect to only be able to rent once you get to Canada. Most landlords want to meet people in Canada before renting to them and to protect yourself you’ll want to look at the rental and see the neighbourhood first. You also are much more likely to be scammed if trying to rent from abroad.

Airbnb and other short rental platforms offer much more protection.

Doubt that most landlords want to meet people in Canada before renting to them and doesn't always protect oneself even if they'll want to look at the rental and see the neighborhood first. You could be scammed too at listings in craigslist or kijiji.

As a landlord yea most landlords want to meet people before they rent to them. You will not find longterm rentals on AirBnb. Yes you can get scammed at all times but if not in Canada chances are much higher.

As a landlord, doubt most landlords want to meet people before they rent to them. Have you actually search rentals on Airbnb? One could easily search for rentals up to 12 months (365 nights). I was looking at one listing and they were offering monthly stay discounts.

Technically you can rent for a long period of time on Airbnb but you would pay a large premium. Airbnb properties are not targeting people wanting longterm lease. The whole purpose of AirBnB is short term rentals. There are many other websites that cater to longterm renters.

Practically you can also rent long term on Airbnb but pay a large premium because it's furnished. There are other websites targeting people who wanted a longer term lease than Airbnb such as VRBO. But even VRBO caters short term rentals.
