Just curious, what are the RR or SS cases? IIt will be really appreciated, if you can put a bit of light on it.
RR is review required cases. These are when the first officer for whatever reason finds it hard to evaluate your application based on the documents you've provided. So the case becomes RR so that someone more senior needs to review it in order for the application to pass to the next stage. RR are also cases where a document might be missing or some info is missing that the officers need so they send you an ADR (additional documents request). RR cases take around 1-3 months more than 6 months as per the current trends.

SS is security screening. This is when during the regular security check, the officer might find something suspicious and the regular security check turns inte a security screening. During the SS, officers will need to contact several security agencies etc both domestic and international ones to evaluate whether the applicant poses a threat to national security or not. SS cases can take anything from 2 months to more than a year after the first 6 months.

I also want to know. As I have neither any criminal record nor any travel history, so are there more chances that my file will be processed within the 6 months period. It is believed that simple cases are processsed much faster as compared to the complicated ones. The reason is, because such profiles are crystal clear !:D
mine got processed within 3.5 weeks

I sss the one helping Jaspreet with the letter of reference he got it in 21 days I got it in 10 months... so that’s why it’s out of our hands please get busy with other things surely it will come in it’s due course of time...
Oh is that so. Hmm true as well, sometimes this wait is killing us from inside and makes us restless. You would have experienced the same thing!

Unfortunately, I've missed an ITA on Jan 30 because of the delay in the ECA report by WES, which already wasted my 5 months :(and now here waiting to get An invititation with the CRS of 444. Let's see if draw occurs today!

I think all applicants experienced the wait with anxiety. I was worried all the time that my application was going to take more than 6 months, especially coz I hadn't gotten any update in months. But I got my PPR in 5.5 months.

That's good on your part , as you are on the safer side already. Two of my buddies are expecting to receive a decision by the end of March, as well. Whereas, I'm here still waiting for an ITA. o_O Lol

It depends on so many other factors than just criminal record and/or travel history. Actually, travel history has very little to do with it, unless it's unclear reasons for traveling to some flagged countries.
The completeness of details in your documents, how quickly they can verify all info, etc... All these come into play.

But everything remaining the same, an application with basic travel history, no criminal record, no previous visa rejections or prior refusals to enter a given country, complete application with all details required included in all documents, and everything on par with eligibility requirements... Then yes, it's safe to expect the application to be within the official 6 months processing time.

But again, it's hard to know in advance what detail will attract their attention for further review. IRCC is the only one who holds the key to such mystery :D .

If all is fine, it's 6 months.

Agreed! Travel history hast very little to do with how long it takes. I have had alot of international travels, both for business and pleasure. and some travel to "red" countries. I also declared 3 different employers for a total employment history of 5 years. Everyone told me that because of my travels and my many employers that it might take more than 6 months but I got mine in less than 6 months.
