Merry Christmas to all the very helpful people inside here. I hope you all are keeping warm and enjoying the rum cakes, the jerk pork and the sorrel. I Have a few questions o ask, but this is my situation about my inland Spousal Sponsorship.

1. October 26, 2012 My Spousal Sponsorship arrived at the Vegreville office
2. On December 22, 2012 I received an email from CIC, notifying me that the received my application 26/10/2012 and ECAS shows it is in process
3. In this same email I got a UCI number and an Immigration file number

Is this a quicker than usual response? Is there a possibility that the application will be complete in 2013? Myself and my wife need to go Jamaica next Christmas
4. I was told by someone CIC sometimes transfer applications o local office. Would they have done that before they emailed me?

Hey JiggyZee,

Merry Christmas to you!

It seems to be a quicker than usual response indeed, but that's rather good news for you! it means that they are already working on your file.... normally stage 1 is 6 months for inland sponsorship, and stage 2 is 8 months... now - you got an AOR, but it doesn't mean that your stage 1 is finished, so nobody here can tell you if it will be finished in 2013.... there is always a chance, but never a guarantee... it also depends on your file, how straightforward it is, but also to which office you are transferred to for stage 2, as some offices are busier than others, and the waiting time can vary a lot...
CIC will transfer your file to a local office after completion of stage 1, but you will be informed, so for now it's probably still in Vegreville until stage 1 is completed.
Good luck for your application,
Sweden

Thanks for your reply Sweden

Well it is still in Vegreville. And I was told that the only it gets transferred to the local office is if the office in Vegreville isnt convinced about the genuineness of the application. I was a few months out of status when we sent off the application. I didnt apply to change the status of my stay because I took for granted that theres not need to be in status in the spousal class. Do you think this will affect the outcome of my application?

As soon as you send your application inland, you have implied status, so you don't need to do anything other than having the proof that you have sent your application. So if you have applied before you went out of status, then you should be fine.
I'm not too familiar with the steps for inland so I would not be 100% sure, but I understood that the transfer was automatic once the first stage was done ( after you get AIP - approval in principle) - but you can try asking the question in one of the inland threads, you probably would have more precise answers.
Good luck,
Sweden
