I'v been working in 2 countries excluding Canada and my country and travel a lot around the world.
Today I completed 8 months and nothing in horizon so far but last time the agent told me everything in my file is completed and waiting for security to be completed and no time frame.

So, travelling to many countries & repeatative travelling to a country might lengthen the security check?

Hi guys,
I have never been an active user of this forum but I was reading the information you guys have been sharing and it was very helpful. I can not call my application process an ordinary case so I decided to share it on this forum, and maybe somebody will find it useful. I have received aor on May 23 and since then there was not a single update in my file but I was not worried until 6 months passed and there was still not a change in the file. Then I started my research and found this forum and realized that there were some patterns to which my case did not fit. My husband started contacting agents but they were saying that it is still normal waiting time and the only thing they can do is to try to send a request to our visa officer so they did and to my surprise we received a replay within 7 days (it usually takes more then that). After that the process has been moved from the dead point and ppr was sent to us on December 28. I will give here my time line (I am not sure if you guys do it this way so if somebody has any questions about it feel free to ask.

Guys after much awaited wait and confusion I received my ppr yesterday!! my case seems weird as I did not receive it in mycic account or in any form of communication. I had ordered GCMS notes and it was out yesterday, it said that everything was approved yet I hadn't received any communication in mycic account or e-mail.
Hence i raised a CSE to my local VO(Pretoria) and surprisingly they responded quickly saying they had sent out the letter on 19th Dec 2016 itself!! I told them that i hadn't received it and to send again.
So they said there seems to be glitch in systems hence they cant re-send it to mycic account and to consider the attachment as passport request with instructions on next steps. There it was, the golden e-mail!!
So guys I highly recommend you to raise a CSE to your local VO, if u know which visa office is processing your application, so that there is no chance of miscommunication! Hope my post helps people who are waiting just like me.

What do you mean? AOR = Acknowledgement of receipt which is to say that IRCC has received your application for Permanent Residence. What does "weightage" mean in this context?ashuindian said:

Congrats, I called CIC, they informed me that the security check for my application is still in progress. it's not a big deal. you'd be shocked if you heard my story. my background check was in progress since July. I only just got it confirmed that it's been completed last week and now the file is in final review. no idea how long the final review takes.messiry said:
