Hello Folks,

Is it mandatory to do Pre-Medical as in PR application it is asking as required document.

Can't be possible we submit application for PR and then they again send us request for medical submission after 2-3 months ? (I just wanted to make sure its validity can be utilized fully)

Any idea how much time it take for medical exam ? i.e. appointment waiting, actual check up and submission of report etc..

Its always good to have Pre-Medical check up as its saves your and also CIC times in processing your application.
If you go for checkup after submission it will take about 7-10 days for the hospital to upload your results into e-Medical system and then 5-7 more days for CIC to receive your results and acknowledge the receipt of your results.

About Medical exam it usually done on the same day no waiting, just call up the concerned hospital for appropriate appointment. The whole process will not take more than 3 hours to complete and once done the hospital will give you a document with your pre-Medical record and a Unique Medical Identifier (UMI) number which CIC will use to check your results. You have to then upload that letter along with rest of your documents and application.

Hope the explanation helps.

Hi,

Guys with NOC 2173.
I'm just a little curios. Isn't 2173 a regulated profession in Canada and requires license to work legally?
http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/report-eng.do?mid=23087&area=26264&lang=eng&noc=2173&ln=n&s=3

All good, if it doesn't. In case it does pose challenge of obtaining license later, I would recommend to apply under 2174 (or 2171).
I'm a Software Engineer too and submitted my application under 2174 (it matches closely with 2173).
Just wish you to apply under a correct NOC to avoid facing challenges later in obtaining license.

Regards,
Aditya

Proof of Medical Exam (required)

"You require a medical exam.

Instructions on how to get an upfront medical exam are available at: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-temp.asp Opens a new window

In order to submit your online application, you will need to upload either the information printout sheet, or the IMM 1017B Upfront Medical Report form. Your doctor will give you one of these documents when you complete your medical exam."

Hello All,

"In order to submit your online application, you will need to upload either the information printout sheet" what does it actually means ?

From above I understand now medical checkup is compulsory before submitting PR application in CIC website. Because lot of time I have seen in this forum it is separately requested after submitting PR application. Please help me to clear my understanding.

Thanks for quick links but after going in details for each section query for PCC.

I have visited XYZ country on Visitor VISA for business purpose 10 time in between 2010 to 2012 so it total time is 191 days (more than 6 months). Any visit to that country is not more than one month as Visa on Arrival is for one month only.

As per above please correct my understanding,
From 1st stmt - As I am not living in that country and I have not stayed any time for more than 1 month so I do not require to have PCC from XYZ country.
From 2nd stmt - It is mandatory if I have reside in any country total more than 6 months.

So it is total confusing. Please any one help me to guide in this case.
