Did they seriously ask you to wait until Dec 2016 or you think you misheard or something?

Yes, they did tell me to contact them again if I don't hear from them until Dec 12th, actually.

Although, I hope it's not gonna take that long. [otherwise i'd lose my mind completely :D ]

Hi Everyone,
On Friday we received an email, that myCIC was updated. We checked our application and it was closed and approved. Since then we are desperately waiting for the tracking number. Do you know how long it takes to send a tracking # or an email than we can pick up our documents?
TIA!

keep Monitoring your MyCIC profile.

Once the status changes to Approved (Which means Visa is stamped), you need not worry. let passport return take its own time.

Regards.

Thank you! :)

Great! Please share your landing experience.
It was nice. Went to Pacific crossing. I was not asked any questions. :)

Hi All,

I have the COPR and single entry visa with me. Can I land in Canada, stay for a week and then come back. I am still working in my current job and it will take some time for me to find a job and then quit this job. My wife is in canada and she can bring the card to me once she comes to meet me.

Let me know if this is a workable solution.

Yes you can. You even can land and take the next fight back home.
You will need either your PR card or permanent resident travel document http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=064&top=10 to come back

My wife who will be in canada can give me the PR card when she comes to meet me. Will this be fine?
Yes, this will work out. Do not worry.
I told you about permanent resident travel document just in case so you know there are other options.

No, it wouldn't be fine. You wouldn't be allowed to takeoff from your country without showing the PR card.
