It was the usual means. I received email notification that there is a new message in my MyCIC account. After login to MyCIC under my application there was the link to the pdf letter.

Congrats. Really surprised at the speed at which Jan applicants are being processed. Sept, October, Nov, Dec applicants had average waiting time of around 150-160 days. Here it seems to be 170-180 days...

My AOR is 17 Jan 16, outland OINP, from New Delhi.
All additional documents were provided by 22 Jan. No further change in status since then.
It's 168 days already and the BGC is still at not started.
I'm worried now.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Do you think I can initiate an application for student Visa since I need to join a course in Canada by mid August? I already have the admit letter from college. What should I be doing so that my PR application is also progressed without any problems? I need the advice of seniors and experienced people in this forum. Should I go ahead with student visa and dependent visa for family members? Or wait patiently for PPR. I am afraid in case I cross Jul 17, that is wait till completion of 180 days and I still don't get PPR, I may not have sufficient time left then for processing the student visa.

BTW shahkunalm, are the passports with CoPR to be collected in person from vfs? Can they not be received by post? This is because I want to shift from Delhi to Bangalore soon. I thought in case the PPR comes through soon, I can submit the passports in person to VFS delhi and ask them to forward the same by courier to Bangalore? Can it work that way?

Thanx in advance for the advice.

@ CHKIND, as I mentioned, that option is available. However, if all the applicants (Owner or passports) are not present at home, then person collecting passports on their behalf need to show the authority letter signed by all the passport holders and also government ID proof of the passport recipient. for e.g. PA is not at home, then dependent can collect, but authority letter and ID proof is required. if PA and dependents are not there, then any one authorized with authority letter & ID proof can collect.

In case you have any further query, feel free to ask.

Regards.

A question to everyone who has received their PPR, what have you had to send off with your passport? and how long has it taken to receive your passport back?

Hello,

To Those who have already got PPR and sent the Passports to NDVO, could you please tell me procedure of sending passports to New Delhi Visa office?

1. Do we need to include any letter in the courier envelope or just quoting the PR application number on the envelope is enough. - Detailed below.
2. Do we need to include any photographs? If yes, what is the specification? - Yes. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf
3. Do they mandate any specific courier service, if not which one is preferable from within India. - VFS is the registered partner.
4. What is the address of destination(VO) in New Delhi? - VFS will manage.
5. Among the Passports of family members, do we need to do any thing to help them to identify the Primary applicants' one? - Ready for Visa email will be addressed to PA. Rest all will be asked by VFS staff.
6. Should we also send the envelope with return address so that they can send the passports back? - Same as point 1.
7. Are we allowed to approach the VO in NewDelhi in person, to get the passports stamped? - No. Not personally.

Asking these things in advance since PPR is expected this week and I am going on a 2 week vacation to a remote place this Thursday and one the way I will be spending this Friday in New Delhi. So either I need to keep things ready so that I can ask my wife (not primary applicant) to send the passports in my absence or in case the PPR arrives before I go, then I could think of taking it to VO directly.

Thanks in advance.

Couple of option that were available.

1. Personally collect from VFS counter. Easy and takes around 30 min due to token system. Passport can be collected by passport owner only. PA and Dependent both need to be there. Else issue authority letter to collect the same to any of the family members. Family members will have to provide their address proof and collect the same.

In our case, I had taken authority letter of my spouse and my Government Issued ID proofs. Once my turn came, it took 5 minutes to collect our passports. I opened the envelopes and checked if COPR with one Photo attached and other loose in there, Visa on Passport, Name, DOB, Passport Expiry etc. on Visa. I left VFS office only after I was satisfied with it.

2. They send passport directly at the address that you provide. Passport can be collected by passport owner only. PA and Dependent both need to be there. Else issue authority letter to collect the same to any of the family members. Family members will have to provide their Government Issued ID proof and collect the same.

With regards to time for receiving it, NDVO is usually between 5-10 working days.

Regards.

Same here, FBI PCC delay.
but many people here including me, just had their BG change to in progress? When did yours change?

Tusharbakaya,

I think that your whole BG issue is complete, They asked for additional documents then it went to "not needed at the time", if they still wanted to check additional documents, the status would have been "not Started or in progress". Just a theory.

They asked for additional docs on 5th may. My BG status was not started that time. It changed from not started to not needed last week i.e. 29th June. So i do not think its complete :P :P

Ayways, 9 more days and then I will call CIC.

Hi CHKIND,
My status is same like yours.
AoR: 21st Jan....BG NOT STARTED then... and no news till now.

Hello all,

I have a question regarding oredering GCMS notes:

When they ask for "file no. ", do we fill up the UCI number or the Application no. in that box?
Please reply urgently.

Thankyou in advance. :)

There is an explanation where they state they need reference number e.g E000.... So that they can reach exactly your pr application

Hopefully we get some PPRs today...

This thread has been very quiet this week :-X

Indeed!

I think the worst part of this waiting is when you start wondering if there is something wrong with you app, the fear of rejection, you seeing other people getting their PPRs and you don't, etc.
