AOR JAN 2016 - let's get together

My AOR is 17 Jan 16, outland OINP, from New Delhi.
All additional documents were provided by 22 Jan. No further change in status since then.
It's 168 days already and the BGC is still at not started.
I'm worried now.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Do you think I can initiate an application for student Visa since I need to join a course in Canada by mid August? I already have the admit letter from college. What should I be doing so that my PR application is also progressed without any problems? I need the advice of seniors and experienced people in this forum. Should I go ahead with student visa and dependent visa for family members? Or wait patiently for PPR. I am afraid in case I cross Jul 17, that is wait till completion of 180 days and I still don't get PPR, I may not have sufficient time left then for processing the student visa.

BTW shahkunalm, are the passports with CoPR to be collected in person from vfs? Can they not be received by post? This is because I want to shift from Delhi to Bangalore soon. I thought in case the PPR comes through soon, I can submit the passports in person to VFS delhi and ask them to forward the same by courier to Bangalore? Can it work that way?

Same timeline....but Background check in progress since 27th april....
But no ppr yet...
Called cic .....but they said to wait for 6 month to complete
I guess most PNP outland Jan AOR got PPR...

I really hope you're both right! The waiting is really starting to get to me now.
 
Revived my COPR in the post this morning. AOR Jan 7th, VO London.
This thread has been great to help keep me sane seeing other peoples timelines.

I'm in your boat. My Aor is 27 Jan, SINP Outland.
 
I am almost in the "6 month and not finalized group"...4 more days to 6 months...

Review of eligibility: Review in Progress
Review of medical results: Passed
Review of submitted documents: No additional documents are needed at this time
Scheduling an interview: Not needed at this time
A background check is needed: Not needed at this time
Final decision: Not Started

Also, does CIC ever reject applications especially if you're more than 5 months through?

it is possible!!..there was a case: After 6+ months, BG check went into progress and then the dude got rejected!! This is rare but has happened.
 
Ha! That's too bad. Hope that doesn't happen to any of us.

What category are you? I share the same timeline with you, same status and same aor date
 
On the bright side, after 4 days, you can legitimately call or CSE them, asking them what the feck is going on.
I recognize your username as one of those who had to go through the protracted FBI report nonsense. I strongly suspect that that was a cause of delay.
So basically, we were punished by FBI, and now CIC too ...

My BG status got changed to In progress today and now I am curious to know what is the average time it takes for BG In progress to complete or move to next stage and what is being verified at this stage ?

Feeling anxious !!!!! ::) :'( :-\ :-X

Exactly...My ITA was sometime in early November-2015...Delayed my application submission to Jan-2016 just for FBI..CSE'd FBI clearance in Feb-2015!!!! >:( >:( ..Wotever, world is never a fair place!!

What's the reason for that rejection?
