Hi I wanted to ask what happens if someone is 4-5 months pregnant and gets PPR and goes for landing in Canada? Medical passed before getting pregnant. Can anyone help? Any restrictions in landing in such situation? Does that person still needs to inform cic about the unborn child?

No restrictions. At least from the CIC side. An important consideration, though, might be about health insurance. I wrote about that issue in this thread (a few pages back), which I'm copying here for everyone's benefit (I think Calgary/Manitoba's health insurance coverage begins from day 1) -

"I've looked into this as well [insurance coverage when landing late into the term]. Here's what I know (applicable to outland PR holders flying in for the first time). Most provinces seem to have a 3-month waiting period before you're covered (I'm talking about health insurance). Ontario, for one, and I believe Quebec too (okay, just checked, Saskatchewan as well, and British Columbia also has a 2+ months waiting period). You will have to bear all costs associated with the pregnancy, including childbirth, during these 3 months. Nevertheless, midwives and some low-cost (or no-cost) clinics for basic monitoring and care may be available in your city. But be prepared for long waits and/or calendaring issues with midwives. But no worries. You can fill the gap with a Cadillac (or a Kia) plan, if you so chose, from a private insurer. I have yet to research how much these cost, especially with "pre-existing conditions" (pregnancy, I'm pretty sure, will be counted as such).

This might be faulty memory but I believe I came across at least one province where provincial coverage would begin immediately. Alberta or Manitoba or one of those frozen hellholes in the murky middle, I believe :P (no offense).

I hope this helps."

Does the application processing time differs by applicant's location or it depends when the applicant submitted ?

According to me it is important to fill the deferral pregancy form as it exam you complete medical status and also helps them to know that you are expecting new addition in application. Moreover according to Canadian law pregnant woman cannot land in the country even if you got the PPR you need to file your child PPR after there birth.

May be any expert or anyone who had known someone had gone through same situation can help.

I personally know 2 ladies who were pregnant but were already within Canada and they did their landing at the border as they got PR during pregnancy as inland candidates.

Thanks for share your experience. I think I need to wait until the baby is born and complete my spouse medical then apply for baby's passport and submit for 3rd applicant in my application.

Hope it will not invalidate my application eligibility.
Is my application automatically start its process after medical is complete or I have to inform the same to CIC through CSE?

MooseNBooze is right I read and heard the same from others.

Hi All,

I have a question in mind. If anyone of you can help me with answer to it will be of great help.

Once PR is received, is it compulsory for Primary Applicant to travel along with dependent spouse?

Can Secondary applicant travel before and Primary applicant come afterwards but within one year timeline?

Regards.

Secondary applicant can not travel before Primary applicant. Though Primary applicant can travel alone without dependents and dependents can come afterwards.
But dependents can not land before primary applicant.

As far as i can say No..i did see someone's Copr which you get after VISA Stamping by VO..
It did mention that PA along with your Spouse+Children have to travel together.

I would say PA has to travel in any case

Amit

It is mandatory for PA to land first. SA can land later or together with PA.
SA can not land before PA.

Great..I got some firm answers!!

Thank you folks.

Regards.

Yes, Some VO's are very quick in completing the process versus others.

Thanks , How do i know which visa office is processing my application ?

Few ways I know of:
1. From your GCMS notes
2. By calling CIC, and tell them that you want to raise a CSE to your Visa Office. This trick may or may not work.

Others can add, if there are other ways.
