Hi diran_ayo,kirtivsingh said:You cannot inform CIC about the baby right now, you will have to do it once he/she is born.
I dont think they will have stop her from flying unless your doctor says that.
The most ideal situation is you land here before the baby is born and then she gives birth in canada.
I hope you all the best. I hope you get PR soon and you land asap.
Hi Raju,rajucheers said:Hi diran_ayo,
I'm too in your situation, im expecting my baby by 2nd or 2rd week of May, so as Kirtiv said until baby is born we could not update CIC about this change.
Ideally 3 situations we could see,
1. you travel to Canada before baby is born.
2. After your baby's birth in your native place, i think you can carry baby along with you as your dependent if it works, but not sure!!
3. Raise CSE to CIC and update about your baby's birth.
But for the first point i have few questions?
1. Can anyone tell me until what date a pregnant can travel? Who will give this information?
2. Would there be any problem at port of entry (because i heard few people intentionally travel to make their child residents of that country.)
Thanks
Raju
CIC will ask all the required documents, like Passport and if required POF for new born, they will just give us the detailed checklist. no need to worry about that.diran_ayo said:Hi Raju,
for questn 1, it depends on the airliner you are using and home country immigration...but you need to get a gynea's report for sure..
for questn 2, there is no problem at port of entry once u are able to leave your home country with the pregnancy..
however, in the case of situation 3 which you outlined above, if the pof initially submitted can only accommodate the family excluding the new baby, are we to submit just the pof for an additional funds or a new pof entirely for a new size of family ?
not sure about the process of baby birth in CA..mayb inlanders can help with that...rajucheers said:CIC will ask all the required documents, like Passport and if required POF for new born, they will just give us the detailed checklist. no need to worry about that.
Another question i have is, what is the process of baby birth in CA? also will they provide insurance?
Thanks
Raju
I've looked into this as well. Here's what I know (applicable to outland PR holders flying in for the first time). Most provinces seem to have a 3-month waiting period before you're covered (I'm talking about health insurance). Ontario, for one, and I believe Quebec too (okay, just checked, Saskatchewan as well, and British Columbia also has a 2+ months waiting period). You will have to bear all costs associated with the pregnancy, including childbirth, during these 3 months. Nevertheless, midwives and some low-cost (or no-cost) clinics for basic monitoring and care may be available in your city. But be prepared for long waits and/or calendaring issues with midwives. But no worries. You can fill the gap with a Cadillac (or a Kia) plan, if you so chose, from a private insurer. I have yet to research how much these cost, especially with "pre-existing conditions" (pregnancy, I'm pretty sure, will be counted as such).rajucheers said:CIC will ask all the required documents, like Passport and if required POF for new born, they will just give us the detailed checklist. no need to worry about that.
