I got this mail from cpc Ottawa regarding my application. To my surprise, the reply came in just two days.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Your file is currently under review and requires additional verifications. As a result, the assessment period will be outside of our posted processing times.

Unfortunately at this time we are not able to determine when your application will be finalized, but our office will contact you as soon as all verifications are completed, or if any additional information or documents are required.

We appreciate your patience and ask that you keep correspondence with our office to a minimum. In order to process requests efficiently, we will not be responding to duplicate requests.

Regards,

Did you order GCMS notes. With what you received from CIC is not a good way to predict why this is happening. A few people have had their medicals go back to review, but then it sorted out on its own. The best way to see what is happening in your application is by ordering the GCMS notes. The entries by the agents will help you find out what is going on.

I ordered gcms on feb18.. I'm gonna call my previous employers to check if they received any verification calls. There's nothing more I could do than be hopeful.

Be hopeful. What you received from Ottawa is nothing to be worried about. You should not have sent an email to Ottawa without verifying from your GCMS notes if your application has even reached Ottawa. My AoR is September 3, and my application was at the centralized intake office until January 10. Only in January was it transferred to Ottawa, Immediately my eligibility was cleared, but the security and criminality had not started yet.

So always be careful to whom you are writing. Sending emails and out information at the wrong place confuses things and you never know who may be irritated.

Keep us posted.

I ordered GCMS twice once in Dec and second in Feb.
There was only 1 new entry since 11/11/15 I.e. transfer file due to overload. Thats what they did in whole 4 month almost.

Hi Guys,

I've been searching for this thread about travelling after landing but before PR card arrives. Can anyone pls post the link if possible.

Thanks for your help!

I asked them during Landing. They said I will have to apply for a Travel visa from my Local Visa office in My home country to return back to Canada without PR card.
Or ask someone to mail the PR card to my address in Home country (which is risk)

Thank you so much for your response, Jemdil. Here is more info about my dilemma:

I read about the travel document for permanent residents. It can only be applied for from outside Canada. I will be away for 3 days only, and I don't know if that is enough time for it to be processed. I have a valid tep. res. visa, but I'm thinking that might be cancelled when the COPR is issued. Pls advise further

No 3 days is not enough. Your temp visa will be cancelled as soon as you get your CoPR.
Another option if you have US visa; come back to US if you have anyone here in Canada to pick you up from US by a car.

Or you can travel once you get your CoPR before landing if you have the Temp Visa; come back and land at the Airport if its just the matter of 3 days..

Oh, Jemdil, I so much appreciate your suggestions. I'm actually going to the USA. I's like to land with my family cos I'm the principal applicant. But I'm going to try the option of having someone pick me up. So if I arrive in a private car, I don't need PR card to enter?

Yes, you can present the COPR if you are traveling by land in a private car.
