Let me continue the above story. Yesterday, that update thing happened to me and there was no change in the account and moved back to submitted. In a few hours I got an e-mail regarding status update and my medical change to not needed at the moment. Today again I signed into my account and I saw Updated which again moved back to Submitted. As everything on my account says not needed or not started so my heart is beating really fast and I just hope that I get the PPR without any more issues as I have been waiting 5 years and even with Express Entry its like my 3rd ITA that went through!

CIC redistributed their tasks when they started refugee operation in Syria and there was a big delay and no movement on our cases in the beginning of November 2015. So connecting both these points there might be a work redistribution happening again on their side. This is a mere speculation!! But if I am right we could see a higher processing rate in the coming weeks. I really hope and I wish I am correct

I guess it depends on where your application is being processed - it's different for everybody. I've also read some people reporting getting PPRs on weekends.Uniquesid said:

Well, thats encouraging. Its almost 6 months for us and we would like to see some extra rapidness on our cases to be finalized.
Its strange that candidates (i dont know how straight their files are), they are getting PPR before applicants who applied way before them. I would call myself a pretty straight forward application, clean record and still have to see this long wait. My few forum buddies, who had similar situation like mine, exactly same situation, got PPR before me and mine is no updates. I know the wait is hard, may be I am speaking out of harshness of this waiting time, but this makes no logic at all. I hope to hear from CIC soon enough. I have a proven good record of past 10 years here in Canada, still they have to put on such a long hold here.
Anyways, best of luck guys. Lets keep waiting with optimism.

I applied under Old CEC in October 2014. Please see my timeline below.
Application received by CIC : 02 Oct 2014
AOR: 09 Feb 2015
CIC sent RCMP request in March 2015. I did it within a week and submitted.
Upfront Medical: 25 Aug 2015 and sent them after a week.
Medical Received in ECAS (ECAS showed that medicals have been received)
RPRF Request: 22 Feb 2015 and paid on the same day
PPR - 26 Feb 2016
To be on safe side, i also applied under EE for FSW. Please see my timeline below.
ITA - 21 Aug 2015
Applied on 08 Sep 2015 and got AOR number on same day.
Started processing my file on 10 Sep 2015.
Medical passed after few days.
Received RCMP request on 02 Oct 2015. Submitted on 13 Oct 2015.
Received RPRF on 20 Oct 2015 and submitted on same day.
Now will call CIC for refund of PR fees..
