as far as I remember it has always been in progress (and still is btw MyCic hasn't updated yet)

BG check will only be changed once your CoPR is issued. At that time your application status will be updated to Approved.

My background check never changed to in progress but after medical passed it changed to not started but again on Jan 12 changed back to not needed at this time what does that mean?
BG=not needed means PPR is knocking the door.

Congratulations to all who have got their PPR's...... :) :)

If anyone could help me with this issue, I would be forever thankful.

My family and I received our AOR on Sept 12 (FSW inland). I really hope that within the next few days we get our PPR, but I also know that I need to have a plan B. My daughter's passport expires on September 4, 2016. From what I have seen, they will only issue the visa if the passaport is valid for at least 6 months.

If I do renew my daughter's passaport, will her current visa and permit be invalidated? I don't know what to do! AAAHHHH CIC should just hurry up and give us our visas. =(

I know 2 of the people whose bkg checks became like that both got their PPR in a few days.

I have a question. What are different status for bkg check? What is the first status when we submit our applications? Is it not needed at this time?

Hi friend, If you renew your daughter's passport, your daughter still can use her current permit and visa. Fore example if you go outside canada and want to return back you show both passports (the previous one with visa and the renewed one) to the officer and everything is fine. No worries!
