After getting PPR, how much time we get to make the first landing in Canada?


My medical was done in Aug 2015 and my spouse was on 1st Feb.

I had applied when i was single, got married on 17th nov.

When i applied i was in Canada, now i shifted to Oman.

Please guide

Now almost 8 months

If you are the principal applicant, it means that you have to fly before August 2016 (actually, we have the same expiry of medical) with your spouse or she may follow before February 2017.

But there's a case in August AORs thread wherein Yelena was able to request CIC thru CSE that her medical is expiring and was given an extension.

I followed by email for GCMS and they replied that they are due on 9th MAY (applied on 7th April). I m not the lucky one to get them early like others. By seeing the trend i applied again today so that if last one wont give info atleast this one would give.

I hope wont need to wait for the one which i applied today.

Do update us once u ll get them. BDW whr is ur application at this moment and what ur last GCMS say

Hi DreamCanada16, so it means that i might also receive mine on the 9th of May. My app is @Ottawa and is under some internal processing not controlled by CIC, possibly criminality check stage. This is the 1st time I applied for GCMS thru visafile.
I wish you'll receive your ppr soon!

If its internal processing, then its the security. Criminality is complete before this stage. You are almost there. Just a matter of a few more days.

I think we both are at almost same stage. My security is in process as well rest all are cleared.

Finallly Something updated after 5 and a half month later.
Got email today about update.

Medical Went from in Review to not needed at this time. Dont know what that means but well something is better than nothing.

anything going from in review to not needed in my experiance, is not a good sign.

They will most likely ask for additional documents, and this is good scenario.

This happened in my case as well. I was asked to get a medical reassessment to extend the validity of my medical results. After getting this done, my medical status moved back to passed. After that my background went in progress and then after another few weeks I got my PPR. Not to worry, it is a good sign that your application is progressing. Just that the New Delhi office is requesting medical reassessments to extend your visa dates even if your medical has technically not expired yet.

I noticed a strange thing today. I had submitted my passport to be sent to Islamabad office on 15/04/2016. The tracking system was showing until all these days that my passport was delivered to Islamabad office on 18/04/2016. Today, the tracking shows that my passport was delivered to Abu Dhabi office on 10/04/2018. It appears like Islamabad office, further sent my passport away to Abu Dhabi for some reason and may be as Abu Dhabi office might be sending back my Passport and COPR, so it got reflected now in the system. Also, to note that today is Sunday and it is a working day in Abu Dhabi as the weekend is probably on Friday and Saturday. Either way I just hope I get my passport and COPR asap

My medical passed and later went back in review due to a biological child which will not be accompanying me. I also have mentioned to them it will be impossible for me to grab medical for my child as the court of law gave the custody to my ex-wife. After which it went to not needed at this time. My guess is that it is regarding my child's Medical.
Hopefully there will not be anymore wait after this. Fingers cross.
