Thank you for the information.

Goodluck to you as well. I suppose you should contact the visa office ASAP sometimes they delay sending out the Ready for Visa email for no reason.

Following up with them can be effective.

Indeed this means the passport is stamped and is on way back, time would depend on the courier service (if opted) if not Monday then by Tuesday you should have your COPR.

Hi,

Do you mean there's no Visa stamp in the passport ??
Abin,

The stamp is in the passport, everything is fine with that. You also get the paperwork - Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR). That one has the photo on it. And in our case photos peeled out from the paperwork. Anyways, I don't think it is an issue...

Hello everybody,
Finally, I landed at Niagara rainbow bridge on June 5, 2016 at midnight. The whole process was smooth. I walked to the US side and the officer there handed me over a rejection letter. I came back to Canadian side. The officer asked a few questions and directed me to another building where other formalities were done. The whole process took exactly 30 mins, starting from walking to the US side to final landing. It was exactly midnight. So I became a permanent resident of Canada on June 5, 2016.
I would like extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the members of this forum for their help and support.
Thank you, all, for standing for each other through the thick and thin of times.
All the Best.

Congratulations r_mittal86! Finally the long wait comes to an end for you.

Wishing the remaining Octobereans would also receive their PPRs / COPRs soon!

BTW, just to update you guys, I received my GCMS notes today (Orderd on 10th May, generated on 17th May and shared today via GCMSnow), here are a couple of points from that:

1. After 30th Oct 2015, my file was touched only on 11th March. At that time all was good except that the officer wanted to get PCC for South Korea for my 4.5 months stay.
2. PCC was uploaded on 30th March and has an entry for checking on 31st March.
3. Officer made a decision on 1st April and RFV email was sent on 7th April.
4. Lawyer's new email address was updated only on 10th May (Hence the first email won't have reached!) after filling in a new form with new details.

Other than that you all know that I got the RFV email the second time after contacting CPC Ottawa with an "URGENT" tag in the subject line.

My journey ends here... Collected my COPR and Passport from VFS yesterday... Check my timeline for details... I wish everyone all the best and may Allah bring the best news of your lives in this month of Ramadan.

Hats off to this forum...This forum is equal to 10000 consultants....

As I am planning my landing, I am a little confused whether I can land in Toronto instead of Edmonton which is written in COPR. I am a FSW not a provincial nomiation.

Congrats! Yes, you can land anywhere in Canada (except Quebec) as FSW with no PNP do not have to show any "intention to reside" in a specific province.

You can land in Quebec as well as long as you have a valid proof of onward travel and some thing that shows you have no intention of living in Quebec for the time being.

Thanks alot guys. Qubec is not a choice at all. I simply want to land in Toronto and settle down there that's pretty much it. I was just concerned because I choose Edmonton at the time of application, hence Edmonton is mentioned as my destination in the COPR.

Thanks for your input!

Thanks @ToCanadaWeGo, bellaluna and r_mittal86! LVO didn't have any role to play with this as the PPR email also came from CPC Ottawa only.

Also, just FYI - I have submitted our passports at VFS New Delhi today. The overall charge for their service is 980₹ per head if you go for SMS notification + courier charges.
Congrats chiyakam !

Thanks a lot xlnc7! Just noticed that your timeline and my timeline would have been similar had I received the PPR in the first attempt :). It doesn't matter now, but couldn't help overthinking.

Dear Members,

I got my PR couple of months ago and I am landing in Canada in the first week of next month, thank you all for your support.

I just have one question, my port of landing in COPR is Toronto, however I have found an employment in Halifax and that is were I will be residing for a few years. My question was answered in this forum and it was can I land any place that I want and I understood that my port of entry necessarily need not be Toronto, but my employer's immigration team has advised me to land in Toronto first and then proceed to Halifax.

When I land I will not have an address in Toronto and when I submit the application for my PR what address do I mention in that? Can it be an address in Halifax?

I have not booked my tickets yet, your help will be very much appreciated as usual.

Regards,

Avish1984
