A good idea is to check a flight tracker for the last flights with your flight number, so you can make an idea at least of the "chance of delay". For example, https://flightaware.com . In case you're flying from abroad, then you should also take into account possible delays at the customs...

Can I apply for an open work permit ONLINE after the medical exam has been passed but before receiving sponsor approval? If yes, do you have a link to the forms I should fill in? Or should I send a paper application? Thanks!

You get the AOR only when IRCC (the Sydney NS centre) sends the application to the local office. So they probably didn't send it yet. It also took me more than 2.5 months to get AOR, so unfortunately there's nothing else to do but wait...

My application was also received by them on Oct. 3, and got the AOR on Jan. 10. 3 days before that, I submitted a web form (case inquire) in which I gave my UCI and told them I didn't receive the AOR after more than 3 months. 3 days later, AOR came in (maybe just a coincidence). So I wouldn't...

Finally got my AOR today, Jan 10, please update, thanks! PS: was worried that it took too long and no AOR (my app was delivered on Oct 3), so I sent them a case specific inquiry 3 days ago. Didn't get a response but the AOR came today, so for those of you who are waiting for more than 3 month...

My application was received on Oct. 3 and still no AOR. Called the IRCC centre today and they told me that it's (unfortunately) normal for some delays.
