I'm sssssssssssooooooo hhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaappppppppppppppppyyyyyyyyyyyyy, Ready for Visa / Prêt pour Visa on 16 May 2016.

Thank you all friends for the kind help and warm words in this thread. After many periods of alternative exciting wait and frustrating disappointment, I finally received my PPR just a minute ago. FYI, My timeline is as follows, AAA2133, could you add me into the spreadsheets? many thanks.

Application submitted: 30 October 2015.

AOR: 31 October 2015

Medical Passed: maybe two weeks later, that is 15 November 2015.

Background check in progress since 15 Novemeber 2015. Then the status was stuck there.

Received the first ghost email on March 2016, which made me excited for upcoming PPR, but it turned to be nothing.

Passed 6 months line on 30 April 2016, which made me disappointed, and the agent told me the security check of my wife was still in progress and the time is out of control of them, and suggested me should wait until the end of JUNE. It made me think unfortunately we met the bad BACKGROUND CHECK, maybe it would take half a year or a year.

Received the second ghost email on 11 May 2016. This time I was not excited anymore as I phoned one agent she told me the background check of my wife was still in progress! so I just ignored this ghost email.

To my surprise, I received my PPR this morning. At first glance, I thought it was my GCMS notes, but it looked different. Then I realised it was the PPR that I waited desperately for long long time.

Thank you guys for all your encouragement and warm words. Wish all other waiting guys GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

I sent by email one week ago and got the auto receipt email then send them with DHL..

Well, then just try to contact them. Call or send another email with details of previous courier (tracking id). I guess there's nothing to worry.

Guys, just got off the phone after checking my application's status with CIC. Got a nice agent after 20 minutes of waiting and she updated me that my application was processed by Ottawa VO and is RFV since 6th April and is sent to New Delhi VO on the same day. It's NDVO where my file is eating dust!! She suggested me to call them up, any of you know the email ID and the telephone number where I could call up?

It might be the stupid question but what RFV stands for. I was under impression that RFV stands for 'Ready for Visa' letter which is nothing but PPR.

It is indeed "ready for visa". The earlier email doesn't imply it means any thing else. Just that the local visa office didn't send the applicant its intimation.

This certainly sounds like a good news. Strange that local VO is taking so long just to send a PPR.

Thanks for sharing the link mate! I have dropped them an email, let's see if they stop sleeping over it and send it for further processing.

@nitinj.36 - @fkl explained correctly. I was told that the decision has been made by CPC Ottawa and they have asked NDVO to process it further for the stamping (as told to me by the agent).

I hope to hear some good news from them !!

Iam also in the same situation like you. I got PPR email from CPC Ottawa and submit my passport at VFS in india next day. As my primary visa office was Ottawa but right now Iam in india. So they asked me to send passport to New delhi. But it has been more than 1 month no news after that. No reply for emails. Please share your updates.

That's really good news for you! I hope PPR comes soon.
Your good experience with the call center is making me want to call them as well. It's been 7 months and 11 days for me. You think they would want to share some info?

Yes, go ahead and call them! 1-888-242-2100 is the number and then you can follow the instructions. I went to address change instead of status as with status I didn't have any success in the past. Post address you can select 0 to speak to an agent. For me it was 19 minutes of wait time but the agent was very helpful! Good luck and do let us know !

Well, I can feel the helplessness you would be feeling - in my case the file is there but they haven't asked me for passports yet. Good luck to both of us !
