Hi vosftco, congrats! We hope to land in a couple of days. Do you mind telling me if you had to take cash with you? We got a letter saying we should take at least 16.000CAD. Is a bank statement enough? I'm not confortable with walking around with that kind of Money...vsoftco said:Landed today, May 4, 2016 at local IRCC office. @AAA2133 can you please update the spreadsheet, thanks! It took less than 10 min. in total. Be sure that you bring 2 PR photos (again), as they asked for them (although I did submit 2 PR 50mmx70mm with my passport). Best of luck to everyone else still in process!

It is the PPR!!! Finally! Six months and 6 days since AOR! Not sure if you were following my situation, but tomorrow I am flying to Calgary on the working ICT visa! I got the PPR just 16 hours before my flight departs! Now I can tell you for sure that the dual intent indeed works! For sure! Will switch from the work permit to PR from within Canada...
It is the PPR!!! So happy! Such a nice feeling! And right on time! Can't even express how happy I am!
Thank you guys for the support, hope and spirit!
All the best to those waiting for their PPR...
Shmel
They didn't ask me for any proof of financial support (probably because I am already working in Canada), but yes, I'd recommend you get a recent bank statement showing the equivalent of CAD 16000. You need to have it in case they ask for it. If you carry cash with you, you absolutely need to declare everything above CAD 10000 at the customs.Ally2015 said:Hi vosftco, congrats! Thanks! I was stressing about taking so much cash on me.vsoftco said:They didn't ask me for any proof of financial support (probably because I am already working in Canada), but yes, I'd recommend you get a recent bank statement showing the equivalent of CAD 16000. Two things can be done at the earliest because of longer response time, I guess your PPR would have timeline of 30 days to send passport so make it quick.
1. Raise CSE and mention your case clearly that you are at Qatar and there is CVAC, VFS in Qatar, let them ask you to send your passport to ADVO use CVAC, VFS Qatar.
2. Send an email to CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca explaining your case
Most of the PPRs as shared on this forum have the following mentioned - If you or any of your family members are residing outside North America and you are unable to send your/their passport(s) to Canada and/or to provide a return mailing address in North America, contact us at CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca or by fax at 613-946-6059 so that we can make arrangements to print visas at another office.
Hi Legalfalcon ..based on your/NBOCT/Bella advice I have applied for my GCMS notes on 3rd May. Behind the scene story is very bad ...had a big big big fight with the MD of the consulting firm ...they still used all tactics to convey me that GCMS notes will hamper my application process and they wont be responsible for it anyway....once they agreed ..they told me to use a third party like ( some caips notes.com ) and pay 40$ and apply on my own ...On asking that when I have a CIC authorized representative in Canada who can fill it on my behalf in Just $5 on CIC website why use a third party site ?...they were shocked to know that I am aware of some new thing which they are not ..and again started arguing that since " you are requesting GCMS " ..our agent in Canada wont do it for you ...lost my temper at that point and decided to pursue my own case now.legalfalcon said:Most delays are because no one picks up the file and sometimes ordering the GCMS notes helps as the an agent is forced to open the file and if the file is sitting just for approval, he will clear it. I would highly recommend that you order the GCMS notes.

Thank you for your response!
I have already raised a CSe and emailed CPCO regarding my scenario. Lets wait for their response. Do you or anyone else have any idea how long does it take to get a response for VO change?
I also visited VFS global and they seemed to be confused on whether they can send my passport to the relevant VO plus they were not even sure which VO to send it. They were telling me that I could use any courier service if I wish to.
Feeling confused at this stage!
Sorry to hear about your bad experience mate, have come across many cases where in the consultants try to misguide/mislead applicants. Their sole objective is to make money; because PR is so precious to applicants many consultants try to scare by telling all nonsense to get money out of applicant's pocket. They feed on applicant's fears.taekwondo said:Hi Legalfalcon ..based on your/NBOCT/Bella advice I have applied for my GCMS notes on 3rd May. Have now taken all the access to my account from consultant ...all passwords etc are with me and changed so that they can not access it from now .
Have a question and would be thankful if you can answer . Luckily the email-id given in my CIC is mine at all places however at the place of address my consultant has mentioned the address of their representative in Canada ...although I raised this query to them at the time of filling form their answer was " Its our standard process we do it so that our representative can handle your case in case of any trouble ..also it speed ups the process as CPC -Ottawa will first access your application ".
Now my question is how to change this address ( is through CSE/) ..or is it really required to change this address as email id is mine and I think most of the communications CIC is sending are through email & CIC account.
Sorry for this big post guys ...also I know I am Aug AOR and posting here as I see Aug & Sept Threads almost dry.
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
