Not too far in the past, when one's bg check went into progress, PPR was assured in a couple of days. CIC has changed their ways of doing things, or the SMTP server in Ottawa has a glitch

True my BG has been in progress for 2 weeks this is third week.

Just logged into my CIC account and saw the status as updated, but everything remains the same in the app status. Hopefully I wont get rejected! :'(

So I have called CiC today and talk to an agent. She told me that everything is ok with my app, all documents are ok, we are just waiting PPR. She told me by the end of the month we should here something. My 6 months mark is on Wednesday. If I have waited for this long, few more weeks wont kill me, I guess... Good luck to all...Hope today will rain

It makes you wonder just what they are doing if everything is okay ... how can CIC say "we are just waiting". I mean are they trying to slow down their avg. turn-around time? Bizarre.

What is CIC's contact number for correspondence?

I got an e-mail asking for my wife to go for a MEDICAL REASSESSMENT more than a month back. However, they were referring to an old IME number. When I replied to them explaining that they should be referring the new UMI number for the upfront medicals that we took after getting an ITA, they said my wife need not go for a reassessment. However, I have heard nothing from them afterwards. Don’t know where this is going.

Completed 180 days today. Called CIC just now....that Lady says she cannot access application for each individual. Check online for application's current status :-[ its driving me crazy....no idea whats happening :'(

That is unusual. As per what I read here, after completing 6 months agents open the application when you call. I think you should try to call again and get another agent.

This happens everyday. You need to call CIC between 8-8.30 am EST if you want to have any luck in talking to an agent. Sometimes the "call load" starts as early as 8.20.
