Hello guys ... Finally got the ready for visa email just now !!!!!
CIC requested 12 month validity of passport (used to be 6 month in PPRs before) from this letter (16 Mar 2016) but my spouse passport is valid till 14-Mar-2017 (missed by 2 days) . Can you please suggest whether I should contact CIC about it or apply for new passport without wasting time in waiting for their reply. Thanks in advance.

Congrats !!!! I don't think a few days will be an issue ... But it's safer to call them and make sure ..... Please let us know your category and inland/outland ....

I got the Background check in Progress the same day as you. Unfortunately the next day I got a request for additional documents which most probably will delay my PPR.

Congrats one more time and good luck on your job hunt (if you do not have one).

Just logged into myCIC and the status has changed to 'Updated' as against the usual 'Submitted'. No material change in any other Status though. BG check is still 'Not Started'. But some movement finally

Congrats for all new PPR... still drives me crazy to think about all CEC inland left behind with no movement at all for months now =(
