I finally got medicals passed today. 05/Jan/2017. :)

I went for medicals at the end of September but it took time because they had asked for additional tests related to TB screening.

Now the only thing remaining is the PPR. Fingers crossed.

Schedule 'A' is usually requested if
i. your application has any gaps in the timelines,
ii. you answered 'Yes' to any of the background-check related questions, like a visa rejection in the past (this is quite common these days as you come across a dozen people whose visa applications were rejected by the US on weird grounds), criminal records, etc.

This is certainly not a bad thing as this shows progress on your application. Unless an applicant has provided incorrect/misleading information, one should not worry about a Schedule 'A' request.

BTW, was anything specific mentioned in the Schedule 'A' request for your husband? Like asking you to provide a PCC from a certain country you missed providing when applying, etc?

Is RCMP is different than PCC? Do you require it to do even if you have submitted PCC?

Guys if we have answered Yes to any statutory question, is it certain to get Schedule A request?
I got RCMP request on 20th Oct i.e. a week after my AOR and submitted the same on 4th Nov. Since then there is no movement in my application. My VO is NDVO.

What is BOWP approved in your case ?
BOWP - Bridge Open Work Permit

You can extend your work visa in Canada if you applied for PR. It usually takes a month and it's a good sign to have it approve, it means your application passed the early eligibility stages.
