Guys, I have received my OCI, but the part where they have those <<<<<<<< arrows like that has two characters of my OCI number aren’t printed properly. The bottom half of them is not printed. Do you think it’s gonna be a problem? Should I ask for a reprint? After all the hassle and hefty fees...

Yeah do not submit any originals. You need to submit your original indian passport because they are going to put a cancel stamp on it. But do not send them original Canadian passport and original citizenship certificate if you’re sending a postal application to be precise

You do not have to submit any original documents except your currently held Indian passport. Everything else you submit a self attested copy.

Okay. A silly question. What is the use of surrender certificate apart from applying for OCI. Once we get the OCI, where in future do we need it again?

Do a postal application. Even if you’re getting an appointment after a week. Your postal application would be faster than that given that all your documents are complete and appropriate DD is attached.

Do a postal application. It’s faster. Double check your application before posting it. E.g signatures and list of documents and all. And you will have no problem at all. Mine was reached the next day I posted it and was marked underprocess in two days.

Ohh yeah mine was in printed state for more than 10 days. LoL and surrender certificate is just a cheap quality A4 paper. The expensive paper I own right now.

My application says “Ready to dispatch” on BLS. Does anyone know how to track the return courier?

Well but April is like 2 months away. You could send documents again and it wouldn’t take that long

If the next appointment is in April, then I would just do a postal application.
