According to me transfer is made to your LVO. those two entries can be about updating values by system. check for you VO on first 2-3 pages of GCMS.

What you are talking about is, something like new value, old value of processing VO are updated. I was also confused seeing those lines but finally figured out that those entries are for updating VO only.

Yes, the very first page of my GCMS notes has the following:

Updated Date: 2015/12/04 10:38:03
Updated By: KD01882
Primary Office: Pretoria
Secondary Office: CPC-Ottawa

Then, does that mean that my file is sitting at local Pretoria office for 5+ months??

But another thing is that under NOTES towards the end, no note has been written in Pretoria. It is all Ottawa.

So where the heck is my file now??

Yes, Pretoria. Ottawa just did the preliminary processing.

The first page reflects the latest updates.

cjs explained it correctly, it's the file transfer history.

Also, according to this thread over on the Family Class forum, "Not Started" on Eligibility and Security does not necessarily mean nothing is going on: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/gcms-notes-well-explained-has-never-before-until-now-t390292.0.html

Wow! Okay. Then Pretoria is sitting on my file for 5+ months? I understand that something might be going on in the background. But I thought background check usually only takes 3 weeks to 3 months. Maybe I should raise a CSE specifically to Pretoria.

Thanks for your inputs, cjs and bellaluna. +1 to you both.

EDIT: Saw your edited post, bellaluna. Thanks.

Try to go through that forum link, I learned a lot there.

It seems like my security check was requested last January but the results hadn't come in since my GCMS notes were generated in April. :( I'll reorder by the 6-month mark if I don't get any updates before then.

Will do.

That sucks. Hope you get positive news soon! Tell me (if you don't mind), do you have a history of studying/working in many other countries other than your home country? Could that possibly be why your security is taking time? As for myself, I have experience in US and South Africa, and I am from India. So wonder if that kind of thing involves an extended security check compared to people who have only been in one country.

Not at all...lived in the same country my whole life, only traveled to a few countries for vacation. I've seen other people with more complex personal histories get PPR quickly. At least you have some reason to justify why with your personal history.

I've also heard of someone from my local VO get PPR just last week, Dec AOR.

There can be many factors for security thing. IMO sometimes it is done by third party agencies where they check applicant's background, and all history. So it depends on that agency how much time it takes.
Other theory is that, they put our files in queue or batches, even if security is done our turn ll come according to the timelines set for that batch or queue.
I have seen some cases, where eligibility and security were passed but their application was just lying at VO waiting for PPR turn.

So about these processes, no one can be sure what goes on..

No am on work permit here.

BG check status has changed to "In Progress" 10 min. ago. The first visible update since 2 Dec.
Got a standard email "your app has been updated".

OMG there's also a message there and this is PPR!

Got the PPR at around 3.00am EDT today. My timeline is as follows:

Application submission & AOR: 2-Nov-2015
Category: EE NB PNP outland; NOC - 1112
Visa office: ADVO
Medical passed: 4-Nov-2015
Additional document (Schedule 4/4A) request and submission: 4-Nov-2015
Background check in progress: 25-Apr-2016 (Not a single update between 4-Nov-15 and 25-Apr-16)
PPR: 28-Apr-2016

This is an excellent group and I know that the suggestions/ advice/ cooperation that we get here are simply the best and 1000 times better than any immigration consultants can provide.

I wish all the best for us who are still waiting for the PPR. Will keep visiting this forum and ask questions about the rest of the process and also would love to read and congratulate you on your PPR news.
