i'm just a bit concerned about something - my BG went into progress Aug 18, which is now past the 2 months mark. Normally, if it's a straight forward case 1-2 months time is enough on average to get past this stage. I don't have any sensitive employment history either nor have i traveled extensively (4 countries at max). i know there are a many variables that can determine this, but has anyone's BG check been in progress for this long?

My BG went in progress in late July and on August 20.

Still waiting. I hope we know what to do in our situation. Cause waiting is killing me.
Even my agent not doing anything and keep on saying to wait but how long? I know be patience and good things will happen.

Absolutely @KimJowan I think after paying and taking all these steps for EE anyone would expect to know a timeline or the reason for waiting if not exact date, that sucks.

same VO as mine. was it always so? or did it get transferred from London, UK to Ottawa? my file was apparently transferred from there to Ottawa around the 5 month mark (right around the time when my BG changed to in progress)

Today marks exactly 7 months since AOR for me. CIC needs to start coughing out these remaining PPR's!

For me it's exactly 7 months & 16 days since AOR today. Really frustrating. Have no choice but wait!

Yeah! It has always been so for me. My file has never been transferred to a Local VO! Eligibility passed and bg went into progress in Ottawa. Guess we are stuck in security check and it needs to be done in 3 to 6 months itself.

I think inlanders facing huge delay in background though we were told everything is completed probably a channel partner / 3rd party responsible for security on behahalf CIC has huge delay getting the job done and the wait continuous 7 months in 3 days :(

7 months 11 days here ???

after being disconnected twice on cic helpline due to huge call inflow, i decided to drop an email to NDVO office only to receive the following response:

'Your e-mail was received by the New Delhi visa office. We do not respond unless you have already submitted an application and we need additional information from you. If a response is justified, we will write within 30 days. We do not provide status updates on applications in process. We do not confirm receipt of documents or passports.'

guess GCMS is the only option, which again is a pain as the form requires manual signatures. well i'll have to resort to that now.

Guys! the wait is really killing me :(

Same here... Nearing 8 months now!

Also my UK visa is going to end soon so now I am worried if I need to extend it because it is going to cost me an arm and a leg. I was hoping to get PPR before that stage comes but now this wait is literally killing me.

Would anyone know how long does London take to return passports? Although my VO is Ottawa but I am thinking that if PPR comes then I would need to send passport to London.
