Just went to login on the CIC account page and saw this message posted there:

"This online service will be unavailable from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Eastern daylight time, on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, in order to perform system maintenance."

Chances are they'll be pushing through updates on to the CIC accounts for a few folks out there. Good luck y'all

I dont think so. It's a System update so nothing related to any updates on profiles.

Good news:

CIC accepts only Canada Post within Canada. I hope you know this.

Good news for guys whos passports are in transit. Otherwise, they could be stuck for weeks.

There had been a March 7 a few days ago but I think it was an exception.
Someone reported an inland (not sure it's CEC though) this morning with AOR March 9.
Otherwise the main stream stopped at Feb 24 for CEC inland and FEB 29 for FSW inland.

Realben, thanks for reply. On what date you are expecting PPR?

I am expecting sometime next week. But i wont be surprised if CIC takes whole 6 months. My AOR is 19th March.

Good thing that Canada Post will not go on strike anymore. Otherwise it would have delayed everything for sure.

Thanks guys. Actually I am worried about bit, my wife 's and daughter permits and visa will get expired on September 11th. After that they will be on implied status since I have applied for their extension on August 24th.

Don't worry you will get PPR soon.

Guys, I applied for a TRV last Thursday because I have a flight to catch on the 11th.

Do you think having applied for a TRV has any bad effect on my PR application?

Is there any danger of the PR application being canceled or refused because I will probably send in my passport for TRV stamping?

Can I fly to Canada on a TRV and go through the stamping and COPR and the landing process once I'm already in Canada? What do you think?

For most of the people, the answer is no. I got my TRV (with validity of around 10 years) while my PR was in progress. Before sending the TRV application, I contacted the visa office and they sent the following email:

-----
Dear Sir/Madam,

Yes, you can still apply for a visitor visa even if you have an application for permanent residence.

The application for a temporary resident visa ( visitor) may be submitted online or the paper application may be submitted to the Visa Application Centre (VAC) located in New York City or in Los Angeles. Processing may take from 15 to 20 days or longer.

Please refer to our website for information on applying for a temporary resident visa
