Hi, ECAS ia not available anymore for any applicants who applied post November 2015. So don't worry, you might have to depend on your CIC profile and e Mails for any updates.

Do you think the processing time would differ according to the VO for PNP-Outland applicants ?
It would have to, yes

Hi all PN fellas,

Just wanted to inform, in case your PN expiry date is in the interim of the application processing, then you may write in to respective provincial teams with relevant forms requesting extension. They do extend the same.

Do you really have to do that? Isn't that a given? With all due respect, it is ridicolous to think when a PNP nomination expires, an ongoing federal application will be affected. Nomination expiration date should be irrelevant as long as there is an ITA received and an application filed within the effective period of a nomination certificate. Correct me if I am wrong.

Hey @fuyiii,

Congrats buddy. What's your Visa office?

I see lot of people from March eAOR have started getting PPR. I am based in Dubai, and our Visa office is in Abu Dhabi. As per few people, they currently seem to process eAOR of December. And approx time for PPR here is about 150 days.

Thanks, sikkavarun.
I am pnp-inland, so my visa office is Ottawa.
From what I understand by reading other threads in the forum, I think different category has different processing time and it's totally unpredictable.
^Only my own opinion tho...

I don't think it's necessary- your profile and points are frozen in place once you submit the eAPR. The expiry on the provincial nomination exists more to ensure that you will submit a PR application within a certain timeframe, instead of sitting on it and potentially hogging a provincial nomination that the province could use to help its own economy- remember, PNPs are given out by provinces out of the belief that the nominee will contribute to the economy. They don't want someone to get a nomination, and then not apply for a year and a half after that- because that means they effectively wasted their nomination right there, which can be a problem because each province only has a few thousand nominations allocated to them each year.

Moreover, proof of not needing a PNP extension, should your nomination expire while your application is being processed, is in how CIC treats birthdays during application processing- if you have a birthday that leads you to gain or lose CRS points for age after you have submitted the eAPR, CIC won't consider the change- instead, they look at how many points you had when you submitted the application.

TL;DR- your application is frozen once you submit it. PNP expirations are no longer a consideration after that.

Note the expiry date on your certificate of nomination. To use this nomination, you must be invited to apply by CIC and submit a complete application to CIC before this date.

I copied the above line from BC PNP officer's email when they sent me my nomination certificate.

My understanding is that it means you have to apply to CIC before the PNP expiry date, not get approved for PR by CIC before the expiry date of PNP.

Yes I agree with your interpretation that as long as AOR date is before PNP expiration date it will fine.

Yup- which is why you want to complete the application and get the acknowledgement of receipt for that application, on or before the date of expiry. Essentially, your interpretation is correct.

I have a question. I'm anticipating my PPR to be somewhere in July (AOR in March). I'm currently in Canada but I'm planning to travel to my home country with my family in July till August. If I receive my PPR while I'm there:

1) Can I send the passport to my local VO?
2) How much time I have from PPR until I send the passport?
3) How much time I have for landing?

Thanks so much

It is on case to case basis. You need to mention details of your PR application. And they shall do it accordingly.
