The information is available here https://www.csis.gc.ca/scrtscrnng/index-en.phpelmas said:I raised a cse on friday and might actually do the same as you if I get a standard answer. Would you mind sharing info as to csis' address and what you asked them for? Thank you very much.
really frustrating as they just invited 3,000 more people i.e. they get to play with the lives of at least 600 more families (i.e. 20% applicants who get left behind).tayca10 said:so no one got any ppr this week?
Thanks sttaq.sttaq said:The information is available here https://www.csis.gc.ca/scrtscrnng/index-en.php
You will need someone in Canada to help you receive the info. Just write that you need to find out the status of your immigration screening. Fill out the consent form available from the link. They require some other information all of which is mentioned in the link. Then they need you to fax it. I used an online fax service i think its hellofax.
I am still waiting for a response but i guess it takes upto 8 weeks.
At this stage I am also trying to find out other ways of getting more information about my application. I don't think they will send you another update. You will have to ask it again but there is no fee.elmas said:Thanks sttaq.
I received a reply to my cse. Just the standard reply. I had hopes because it actually says on the cic website that medicals can be reassessed or extended only when medicals are the only thing causing the final decision to not be made. So I'm going to ask csis about the background check. If csis is done with security screening, what would be the next thing to do? And if they are not, will they write me again once they are done or will I need to ask again? Do you have any idea on that?
On my side, I wrote a letter to csis and will fax it today. I was told by two different call center agents that the deadline on my file is February 9 and that they can do something after that date, so if I don't hear anything by February 9, I will call again and also ask for a second set of notes. I'm thinking that this date has to be written somewhere on my notes as two different agents gave me the same date on two different calls. But then, of course the officers can simply set another deadline, so I'm not really sure if this deadline is actually something strict.sttaq said:At this stage I am also trying to find out other ways of getting more information about my application. I am waiting for my csis and the next thing I am planning to do is to write a letter to the immigration minister. Actually, I am just pondering if we can collectively compose a letter which is worded appropriately and highlights the numerous problems that the waiting applicants are going through and then get it signed by a number of people on this forum. What's your opinion?
If IRCC still don't take any steps regarding this line of "background check is dependent on external agencies or local offices whose processing times we cannot predict." - I fear, with the record number of ITA's on the past back-to-back months, the average processing time will increase at a large scale than 6 months.elmas said:On my side, I wrote a letter to csis and will fax it today. Yes we can contact the MP or write the minister but don't you think we should at least wait till March, ie one year after placing the application? Because if we do that now, it's very likely that we'll get a reply along the lines of "background check is dependent on external agencies or local offices whose processing times we cannot predict."
We don't even know what this bg check is or does and I have no idea what's causing the delay! Just some lazy localofficer not replying to an enquiry sent by CIC or what??
I guess since your file is in Ottawa they can tell you the due date. In my case they say your file is with NDVO and hence we cannot tell you any due date.elmas said:On my side, I wrote a letter to csis and will fax it today.
