Which country you from and how long it took for the passport to be stamped with the VISA? Mine was recieved by CIC on January 4 (yesterday). How long before I can expect to see the return tracking for Canada post activated?

BTW, I see your visa office as LVO - is that London? Also, does that mean you are an outland applicant? I was under the impression that only inland applications are being processed right now.

I've heard that there is an email address on Passport request letter you get. May be this:
( CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca); DO NOT WRITE THEM IF YOU DO NOT HAVE PASSPORT REQUEST EMAIL YET.

And you can write an email to that address to change VO. I've heard that it usually takes 20 days to get a feedback from them but few lucky ones have gotten on 1-7 days. Note that you get 30 days to send your passports.

But it is NOT a good idea to send passport directly to LVO without talking with Ottawa (email above) and then to LVO.

I did the landing at Rainbow Bridge. There is no U-turn on this bridge. I had to present myself to the US immigration, but they did not ask any questions other than ask for the passport and as if I was going to do the landing. They gave me a paper saying that I was going to return to Canada to do the landing and I left.

Has anyone here completed the landing process at Niagra Falls, Rainbow Bridge?
I need to understand if there is a way to make a U-Turn in the no-man's land and head back to Canada border? If there is then would the canadian immigration accept me for landing?
Or do I need to present myself at the US immigration to formally get a letter of non entry into US from them?

I don't have a good feeling about the flagpoling if I have to make myself present at the US immigration because then I will have to answer Yes for the question "Have you even been denied entry in to the United States" for ant future VISAS.

I finally went ahead and ordered GCMS notes. I really pray this will prompt CIC to process my application and generate some movement. It's been around 9 weeks since my BG went into "In Progress".

I don't know if this is true: i heard that ordering GCMS notes is gonna make the processing time even slower. Does this have any base?

How many people in the July group here have reached 6 months? How manyJjune applicants still haven't received ppr? They keep making draws every two weeks but the processing slowed down since ... October, November last year. Backlogs are formed like this...-_-

I haven't though about it. I guess it will take atleast 1 month to get GCMS notes. If I do not hear any thing by this month end I will consider ordering GCMS nots

The processing has definitely slowed down. One can only hope for a pickup in speed by CIC.

The general consensus is that if you order GCMS notes, there is a noticeable movement in the application. Anyways, let's wait and see.

In my opinion, the only thing left on your file would probably be PPR issue, and I don't think a GCMS order would prompt CIC to issue it any faster. PPR comes in batches.
