Hi, I want to know if the CIC will reassess your CRS points or ask your spouse to provide credentials and IELTS results if you get married after you have submitted your application? Can anybody help with this please? If No, what will the next process look like and what will be required?

The processing of your application for permanent residence in Canada is almost complete. You must complete the following steps within 30 days in order for our office to issue your Confirmation of Permanent Residence and if applicable, permanent residence visa. If for any reason you are not able to meet this deadline, please inform us immediately by email and include the details of your situation.

STEP 1: CHANGES IN YOUR APPLICATION

Has your family composition or personal circumstances changed? Changes include:

If any of these conditions apply, you are required to inform our office immediately. If available, please include in your email the evidence that supports the change and send it to

3. You must purchase two prepaid Xpresspost envelopes, one self-addressed and one addressed to our office.

4. Keep a tracking number sticker from each envelope.

5. Send your package by Canada Post to the following address:

We do not return passports by regular mail.

This was the email (minus the links as it wouldn't let me post with them!)

there are 4 people in our application, myself, spouse and our 2 young children. We are from the UK so visa exempt.

I did contact CIC by phone as I was worried this email may be a scam but she assured me it was legitimate.

The answer depends
are you adding your spouse to your application or just informing CIC that you got married?

If you are adding your spouse to your PR application then you need to provide those credentials. My advice would be if your spouse have the needed credentials add them to your application.
As it makes the PR process for them way easier.

If your spouse does not have the needed credentials just inform CIC that you got married but you are not adding your spouse into your application!

Hi flystanny,
To be more specific, the bare minimum requirement your wife will need to furnish are PCC and a marriage certificate.
If you have time, please start with the PCC. Marriage certificate will follow when you get married.

You do not need to provide education, work exp, IELTS since you already qualified.
Hope it helps.

Hi folks,

For those of us who their PR application has been returned due to CEC cap story in 2014, should we answer Yes or No yo the question asking about if you already applied for permanent residency?

I already submitted my application and I said No since the section asks for a File Number which I have never been issued. But I read some stories here and there that it might be better to say Yes and give an explanation. I was thinking to send CSE to clarify my situation but I was not sure of it is really necessary?

If you have had similar situation and already got you PPR your input is much appreciated.

Thanks.

My friend has this , He was April applicant who just got is PR.
He did not mention anything about the rrevious one as it was not rejected rather just returned back due to CAP limitation !

Thanks.

I also had the same situation and said no, because as you said there is no application number (and no payment). So far everything has been going like everyone else, and I doubt this would cause any problem down the road.

Just a little update.... My CIC updated today to 'application approved' and the tracking number activated for the COPR! Hoping to take a drive next weekend to the boarder.

Good luck to everyone!

Congrats!! Let us know your experience at the border once you are back! All the best!

Landed successfully in rainbow bridge today: ;D

Just to share my experience at the border:

1.Enter to US border, then check my passport and copr. Officer ask me what's my citizenship.
2. Officer ask me to park my car and wait an officer. (Never step out on my car)
3. Officer check my passport and ask what's my purpose( I said for PR landing in Canada)
4. Officer filled up a piece of paper. He just wrote my name, passport number, purpose and plate number of my car.
5. Officer ask to follow him, open the exit gate and hand me the filled up paper.( I said: thank you sir)
6. Enter a toll gate going Canada border ( just beside where I exit) paid toll fee.
7. Enter Canada border, hand over passport and copr. Office ask me where I live( said my address) and ask me again( is everything you own in Canada?( I said yes).
8. Officer gave a piece of paper then ask me to park and go inside the office.
9. Officer took my passport and copr, sit and wait to be called.
10. Officer ask me proof of ID,ask me if I am working, job and employer. Ask if I ever been convicted of any criminal charges and refuse to enter Canada.
11. Ask me to read and sign the copr.
12. Officer signed copr and stamped my passport.Landed successfully.
