I think you can do that. On your way back (at the Canadian border), tell the officer you would like to do your landing formalities and activate your PR and they'll ask you to park your car and come into the office.

Thank you so much for your help. :)

I am highly doubtful of this, especially the the statement that the file goes to local VO after BG is NA. Because after a month and a half of submission of my documents, I sent additional work related documents (T4 for 2016) and I got this reply from CIC:

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

We are pleased to confirm the reception of your document. We have forwarded it to the responsible office for their consideration.

That implies that the file no longer was at CIO right after IP(1).

I have mentioned clearly that after BG status becomes NA, eligibility assessment will take place and the agents will transfer the files to Local Visa Officer after they done with their eligibility assessment ONLY.

Changing the status are purely depends on the agents who are working on our files. Some might be more specific in changing the status and some might not. They may change the status only once in the entire process. I have seen many cases where the applicant received their PPR without even single change in the BG check.

I'm trying to share my experience over here and it is all up to other end, how they receive it. One thing is sure that, I'm not just simply replying to thread without proper analysis of the process.

Hope it helps :)

That's helpful. Was curious to know what exactly happens in eligibility assessment after NA (I am in that stage).
Will they simply calculate the points again or go through the submitted documents one more time?

Thanks.

I think, agent might not updated your status regularly. The best way to find out is by ordering the GCMS notes. That will help you to understand more insight of your application.

Got to talk to an agent and he checked status and said
they are processing eligibility and background check, wait till they contact you

what to incur from this ???
Jan 10 AOR
PNP-O
medicals passed
BC - NA since forever

What is your current BG status? Still NA? I didn't get any update email, so check your account.

Cool. Seems like your PPR should be around the corner! All the best!

My BG status has been stuck in NA since 4th April. I keep checking my CIC account every few hours so as to not miss any updates! But I'm glad to see movement in FSW US applicants. Hopefully my application will move to IP2 soon! Cheers and good luck!

Guys..and if Baji81 is looking at this thread. Need your help.

My consultant claims that PPR is received and sent me the screenshot which looks like this:

Application status: We received your application. We will send you message....
Review of eligibility: We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements
Review of Medical results: You passed the medical status
Review of additional documents: We do not need additional documents
Interview: You don not need interview
BG Check: We are processing your background check. We will send you message if we need more information
Final decision: Your application is in progress. We will send you message.

Correspondence

Subject. Date sent. Date read
Request letter April 20. April 20. April 22
Acknowledgement of receipt January 13

My query is if really i got PPR. My BG status was NA a week ago

This is ridiculous and totally unacceptable. PNP stream is getting slower and slower day by day. Nov & Dec PNP applicants are waiting for PPR email and JAN & FEB FSW/CEC applicants are getting PPR mail. I can't understand their pattern.

I received my GCMS notes yesterday. In that note, they have mentioned that agent has verified section 11.2 & its OK. Recommendation: ***Review Required by Officer*** Ready to Finalize. this notes were added on 10 FEB. After that, There is no communication. my BG is still "NOT APPLICABLE". Can anyone help me with these notes? What it means?

What is going on with PNP applicants? I have send them an email twice but no response. Did we make any mistake by applying through PNP? Very disappointed with IRCC pattern of work. Sorry for frustration.

Yes, this is how the status looks when you get PPR letter in your account.
