Well I didn't know that we even needed a PCC for Canada, so knowing my luck I'll be asked to get one and have my application delayed :-X

I think you misread me. You do NOT need a PCC from Canada to be attached in your application. If visa officer asks he will ask for RCMP while application is in progress

I went to FIPS and got my RCMP. I hope they dont ask it for you, I assume it completely depends on VO/Agent

Oh you got your RCMP proactively? How much did it cost you?

Oh no, I understood what you said, but your application obviously won't be looked at whilst they're awaiting/reviewing the RCMP check haha. With how fast PPR is moving at present, I'd like to stick with that time frame haha

Just googled it. Will keep that in mind in case, god forbid, I am asked.

How long does it generally take for checking the completeness of the application? I am an FSW outland from USA and my AOR is on 13th January and I still do not have any update.

Also, how would we know if the completeness of the application is finished. Does the CIC message us?

Can some one please answer this?

I also dont know why CEC inland applicants take chance in submitting RCMP initially, the reason I am asking, in the place holder document for PCC it clearly mentions PCC Multiple -> That means who ever staying in Canada for more than 6 months needs to submit RCMP apart from other PCC from other countries.

Am i missing anything ?

It's because it's not something that there is clear information on. I asked this question multiple times in this forum and was told I didn't need one!

1) You can check the tracker and filter accordingly to get the timelines https://myimmitracker.com/en/ca/trackers/january-2017-aor-permanent-residency-tracker

2) Its always recommended to check your CIC account at least once a day, Usually CIC sends messages but there are cases where few people dint received the messages/emails when there was a change in application status

Ya true, I simply followed my friends who landed as PR's. They submitted RCMP when they submitted the documents initially, so dint took chance

It is clear here you do not need a Canadian PCC if you live in Canada currently
