I just got this email back from Ottawa CIC: response is first and my initial email second:
Anyone get a sense of my timeline?

-----------------------——

Hello again,

It’s impossible to predict the timeframe for finalization of your application. Presently there are no issues, no outstanding documents and regular processing continues.

Regards,

Status Update Status

Good Afternoon,

I am almost 6 months in to my AOR and hoping for an update on my application status. I have accepted a job offer however will not move until my application is approved and I can move. My future employer asked when I can start. Please let me know any update you are able to give so I can give him this information.

Thanks!

Is NDVO responsible for all the applications from India ??

Some applicants got PPR request from Ottawa (so to answer your question - no), however, now, I don't know if NDVO were involved in checking and verification processing for those.

ITA: January 4th.
AOR: February 23.
Stream: CEC inland
PPR: june 26
Passport sent: june 27
Passport recieved back: July 27
Landed: july28.
I did my landing at Blue water bridge Sarnia although i was like hour away from falls for 2 reasons.
1. They only allow landing between Tuesday to Thursday and i was going on Friday.
2. From others experience as i read on different forums, niagra and around areas are packed with tourist and immigrant trying to land. As a result they have been keep sending them back as they get packed before 8 in the morning. Sarnia was bit a drive for me but definitely worth it. I was done in less than 10min in immigration office. So the new adventure begins as a permanent resident. Good luck to everyone waiting for ppr. Its on its way guys. Patience always get paid off. And for landing recommendation, i suggest you to pick somewhere not close to falls. ✌️:)

Quick weekly round-up:

If you have any feedback on this report please PM me.

If you find this status update useful please click [LIKE] - thank you in advance.

The report is getting longer and more complex, so not sure if you, guys, want me to make it short or continue to give more and more details.

PPRs by period from Jan 1st to Jult 29th:

PPRs in July:

Source: https://myimmitracker.com/en/ca/tra...ytics/passport-requests-pprs-by-period-report

Statuses by the month of submission up to date:
*We had seen a lot of PNP-Inland from January getting PPRs last two weeks, it allowed January to clear up to ~75%. However, still a lot of waiting. We can clearly see that the target of 80% within 6 months had been missed by CIC for January applicants, and partially for February.

Statuses by day of submission for January:
*Remember 40% are PNP applicants, they are currently being processed, 90% of PPRS for jan past two weeks were for PNP applicants. I saw 1 CEC applicants getting PPR. London VO was very active this week.

Statuses by day of submission for February:
*The most quiet months as of now, almost PPRs reported in last two weeks (or rather only few, 1 CEC on 28th of July)

Statuses by day of submission for March:
*July has been a quiet months for March.

Statuses by day of submission for April:

Statuses by day of submission for May:

Statuses by day of submission for June:

Statuses by day of submission for July:
*July e-APR filers enjoy a very quick processing of meds, averaging 10-12 days. These meds processing time has last time been seen in December 2016.

Average wait by stream from AOR to IP1 (In process for the 1st time):

Average wait to PPR by stream for the past few months, "average mean", showing increase in processing on "average":

Average by stream (current, historical data):

Average by Visa office in the last 30 days:

Applicants by Stream:
*The share of PNP has decreased from 40% in Jan 2017, to ~9% in May. I would expect it to grow to 15% as there were a lot of OINP and NSNP nominations recently.

Average wait for PNP based on the province of application (the sample size is small, but still some results are exciting)

Average wait by Family size (for 5 family members the sample size is small, don't think it is accurate):

So is it about a month from PPR to being able to land and accept PR?

Also, 2 questions more:
1) wondering if anyone knows how long you can push off landing and still accept PR. if you get the ability to land on (i.e. Sept 1st) can you wait to move to Canada until 6 months later, a year from your medical exam, a year from PPR? Anyone know the timelines?
2) once you accept PR what are the requirements to maintain PR. we live in NY and are thinking about me accepting PR then returning to NY for about 2 more years (taking frequent trips to Canada to see my wife's family) then moving completely to Canada after the 2-3 year period. Anyone know how this would affect PR?

I am sorry but I think this is not the right thing to do! If you want to live in NY why did you apply at the first place? I don't get this; I have been living in Canada for almost 6 years now and still no PPR and you may get yours anytime and want to live in NY!

My wifes employer needs her to stay a little longer but just informed her. We plan to move but need to wait longer. It's a complicated situation just asking if anyone has facts about those timelines I asked about not trying to anger anyone or get opinions on it.

Hi,

I think the requirement is to be physically in Canada 3 out of 5 years for you to maintain PR status. I know of many people that leave just after a few weeks of landing to then return back to Canada a year or 2 after.

So I think you should be fine. You can also confirm from others.

Cheers!

Ok thanks!

I found the info looks like 730 days (2 years in Canada).

As a permanent resident, you may travel outside Canada after you arrive. However, you must meet certain residency obligations to maintain your status as a permanent resident. To meet these residency obligations, you must be physically present in Canadafor at least 730 days (2 years) in every 5-year period.Jul 11, 2016
