I am not sure but RCMP can only be done if requested for by IRCC. And from my understanding, its requested most often times when cec applicants have lived in more than one province or have changed address alot. Not 100% sure cuz IRCC procedure is unclear to anyone.

No u can go to the offices in downtown and go for fingerprint and tell them u r doing it for immigration
just need two piece of ID one photo and one non photo ( even credit card worked for me ) with my passport

they clicked my picture and got my finger prints done and they said RCMP will mail the documents to my address in 10 to 15 days . I got it in 9 days and u have to upload that document

Yeah, maybe I didn't conduct enough research but I was really thorough with everything so this is a strange miss. I'm pretty sure at several points I actually received the message from CIC website that one was not needed from Canada. It's ok, easy enough I hope! Just don't know the process and RCMP website is clear as mud.

I don't really think doing upfront makes that much of a difference. What if it wasn't needed. My wife was asked but I wasn't. A friend, same stream, submitted two weeks before us and was never asked. Their BG changed a week ago to NA.

PCC needs to be after you left the country. As she left India in December October PCC is not valid. You need a pcc issued after adate she left India.

Hey guys,

So I checked my profile yesterday (Friday) at 4pm and they are requesting an RCMP check. Looks like the fingerprint place in Calgary closed at 4pm so I just missed getting it done right away! Going in on Monday.

A) what is the process?? I can see in Calgary local police stations don't offer the service. Then who does?
B) Do they submit my fingerprints electronically to immigration? How do I actually get the RCMP to upload and who from?

C) does this mean I'm close once done?
I did RCMP for my spouse last year and your finger prints will be uploaded electronically.
Be careful to specify RCMP cos we earlier made a mistake and did a local police check and IRCC told us to go redo the check. You will get a response in your mailbox after a week or so depending on your province's timeline and it's that form you will end up uploading.
Lastly, we need to keep an eye on each other as our responses from IRCC are really close

For those keeping tabs on FSW inland movement, I just passed my medical:

AOR Feb 12th 2017 (FSW inland)

Please make me clear about this BG status : "Your application is in progress. The next step is to conduct a background check."
Is it same as IP (1)? Or it will change to IP (1) after some time? Whats the difference?
I have a same BG status and when i called cic the lady told me that they are checking your documents. Right monow they're looking for my educational part and there is lot more to go. And my medical hasn't even changed. Its still not needed. So i guess the process depends on particular profile.

Hi Guys,

Finally some movement. Medical passed and BGC IP 1. There was a gap of around 20 hours between medical pass and BGC IP 1.

Keeping my fingers crossed for rest of the process. Generally how much time it takes from IP 1 to NA and than from NA to IP 2 ?

All the best to everyone.

Sigh of Relief, Medicals Passed!!

AOR: 22nd Feb
Medical Passed: 8th April
BG: Your application is in progress. The next step is to conduct a background check

Can somebody guide me on the next steps, RCMP may be or is it again the wait game.
